When my mom says it's the best around, you'd better believe it! 1/18/2007

My mother is 77 years old and grew up in Texas and Alabama. She is a lifelong lover of the types of food this exceptional restaurant serves, and when she insisted that we go there as soon as possible so I could experience how great it was, I thought I was prepared for what was bound to be a fantastic taste treat--but it turned out I was NOT completely prepared to be as blown away as I was. From the heavenly aroma inside to the incredibly phenomenal food, BBQ & Ribs Co. is simply a must-visit for anyone with even a passing fancy for barbecue, either vinegar-based or tomato-based.\r \r If you can believe it, this place is run by the group that owns Hardee's in this area, the Boddie-Noell Enterprise group in Rocky Mount. Hardee's has really stepped up their game in the last couple of years, but this place is in a league of excellence that few others could ever hope to attain. Both eastern and western BBQ are absolutely brilliant--clean, perfectly textured, and loaded with flavor. Sauces are fantastic, and every side dish I tried was a delight. I didn't have the ribs, but I from what I saw, and for how quickly and completely they were consumed, I'm sure they're also great. \r \r The interior is clean and functional, and the service was prompt and competent. But MAN--WHAT barbecue!! Run, don't walk. You'll be a believer after the first bite. Thanks, Boddie-Noell! Please open one in North Raleigh! Pros: Absolutely amazing barbecue and sides Cons: Eventually you get so full you can't eat any more more

Not fancy, but yummy and cheap! 10/19/2006

Close to downtown, easy parking, never a line or a wait. Yummy food that's reasonably priced in a clean, pleasant environment. What's not to like?\r \r NOT fancy, this isn't a place to bring anyone you want to impress. A great place to go when you don't feel like making dinner! Pros: Cheap and yummy more

Smell the smoke, can't miss it! 7/7/2006

We didn't know it was there but were driving down St. Mary's street in Raleigh and smelled the BBQ on the pit. It wasn't even meal time but everyone in the car shouted at the same time....""let's go there"".\r \r It smelled even better on the inside. My dad grew up in Wilson and my mom is from Lexington so we're a house divided when it comes to bbq but this place has both kinds, chopped and sliced and both my parents said that it was the best they've ever had.\r \r We go back everytime they're in town and my friends from work and I go for lunch at least twice a week. We've eaten almost everything on the menu and there's not aloser in the bunch. Pros: Eastern and Western style bbq and all the trimmings, great fried chicken and catfish too Cons: hard to find but just follow the smoke more

changed my mind 7/6/2006

I am a girl from the Midwest who said she would never like bbq from the south. Well, this place changed my mind. My job brought in the catering for a meeting and I was really impressed. I can't wait to take my family when they visit me in NC. Pros: lots of selection Cons: messy food. get lots of napkins more

A ""can't miss"" for real BBQ and fresh made sides 7/6/2006

We were raised around family who cooked hogs every fall and we've done it like they did for years. Potatoes, corn, cabbage, and collards were all coming out of the field the same time of year so there were plenty of fresh cooked vegetables to go with the pork.\r \r The first time, and every time since, that we ate food at BBQ and Ribs, my wife and I agree that it's just like being back on the farm. It's obvious to us and most all of our friends that these folks make their food from scratch and their hog is as good as any I've ever cooked.\r \r We always take home a quart of their banana pudding every time we go.......I swear it's better than my mother used to make.\r \r If you love, want, need and demand fresh cooked, real deal BBQ and fixins, you got to go to this place. Pros: real food, fast, friendly service Cons: line out the door some lunches more

Best BBQ in the Triangle 7/5/2006

These guys are the REAL BBQ Experts !!\r Great flat screen TV's and Free Wi-Fi to sit and enjoy friends.\r Pig Pickin style BBQ, great ribs and the best BBQ chicken in town.\r Just like a real BBQ stand. Pros: Best BBQ in the Triangle, Its REAL Q Cons: Not enough of them near my house more

Awesome BBQ 7/4/2006

BBQ & Ribs isn't just good BBQ - it's GREAT BBQ. Smoked slow and tender, with a delicious sauce. All the trimmings, too - home style vegetables and desserts. If you're a BBQ \r lover, you don't want to miss this place. Nice patio area is another plus. Pros: BBQ that will please the most discriminating BBQ lovers Cons: So much good stuff, it's hard to choose more

Best BBQ anywhere 7/2/2006

WOW! The BBQ is great and that sauce. You have got to try it. The portions are heaping. And, they make all of their side dishes from scratch in the kitchen. Eat in or take out, this is one of my new favorites. Pros: Best BBQ anywhere Cons: Didn't save room for dessert more

GREAT sliced BBQ! 6/25/2006

SLICED BBQ (pig-picking style) isn't easy to find in BBQ restaurants around here, but BBQ & Ribs Co. has got it and it's excellent. All the traditional BBQ accompaniments are here - really good fried chicken, Brunswick Stew, ""secret recipe"" Banana Pudding. If you haven't been to BBQ & Ribs Co., try it - you'll definitely add it to your list of favorites. Pros: Sliced BBQ, variety, crispy Southern fried chicken more

Not just for meat lovers! 6/25/2006

The vegetables are the real deal; home-grown and home-made. You would think your very own mawmaw was in the kitchen. The potato salad would win any contest. My husband always pigs out on the ribs, but I go for the salad, greens and beans. And the banana pudding (if you have room) is worth the trip in itself. Add an ice cold beer, no losers here!!! Pros: Variety, cold beer, extremely clean Cons: A good ways from where we live; need more locations. more

Great BBQ! 6/21/2006

I went to BBQ & Ribs for the first time two weeks ago, and have been back 6 times! The food is outstanding. If you are a BBQ lover, this is your place. I've also tried the fried chiken which is juicy and delicious. Don't forget to try the banana pudding - save room for it and you won't be disappointed. Pros: Parking lot in the Glenwood South area; great food; outside seating Cons: Location is hard to find more
