We gave B&B Catering our entire catering business at our private home in the past year and were very disappointed in the disrespectful and cavalier way in which we were treated. After the last event we noticed that a large $120 chef's knife was missing from our kitchen. We do not know if it was taken by the B&B crew. It was a knife that is about a foot long overall so it is hard to lose; B&B had taken items from our kitchen before, presumably by accident, and which were returned by them upon our request. The owner, Demetra, left our house in the middle of the latest event without notifying us and left two young girls in charge who, so she later told us, might not have been able to tell if the knife belonged to us or them. So we thought it might be worth asking and contacted B&B with the simple question of whether or not they inadvertently had taken our knife. What we thought was a short yes or no question turned into a major ordeal. We contacted them by email as well as by phone requesting they get in touch with us but were ignored. After a few days including numerous phone calls and some promised call-backs (that never came) we happened to get Demetra on the phone, who said she'd go right into the kitchen to check and call back but she never did. After talking with the office the next day we asked to get a yes or no reply by the end of the day but again we did not hear back. At last we received a phone call from Demetra sometime later in which she stated that the knife was not in the kitchen but it might be at one of the private homes of ballplayers to whom she caters and she would have to go look in their homes. She also mentioned something about a driver. We were confused about how the knife could have possibly ended up there, given that we only saw her and the two girls at our home. She said she'd need a few days to investigate and get back to us. It has been several weeks now and we never heard from her again. We are disappointed that after all the business and loyalty we had given her we were not even worth a simple yes or no. Obviously, we do not plan to use them again for our catering business.
