Avl Moving Systems

Since my move to Atherton, I have moved at least once a year. Each time, my parents came to help. My parents didn't come to help this time...guess that means I'm officially an adult. Right? So, I weighed my options. I could either torture my friend to help me move and drive the truck (there is no way I'm driving) or, well. Oh wait! I could hire movers. I was a bit skeptical looking for movers at first, but then I Yelped and settled on what seemed like the best in the business--AVL Moving Systems I went through their online form--sooooooper easy--and got a response within a day! I appreciated that their form was really specific as to listing what I had to move instead of me having to think back to how many things I needed to pack away. And that was that..I didn't need to check back with them for anything after, but I knew that I could if I wanted. :) The week of my move, they called to confirm my information, see if there were any changes, etc. Awesome.... Then the morning of, about an hour before the scheduled move, I got a call from them telling me when they'd get there, etc. Super awesome. My movers were super cool...They answered any questions I had and warned me of anything that didn't look like it was going to make it . Oh! And they were under the estimate! When I sent in the request, I got an estimate for 3 hours with 2 guys, but they made it just under 2 hours, giving me more time to unpack..which I didn't really do. Although I've never used another Moving service, the pricing seemed extremely fair for me. The amount of stress, sweat, etc. they saved me was 100% worth it. And Im sure no Moving company could be better than these people performing such am amazing job. I will continue to move with AVL Moving Systems only. Thanks AVL !! more

WE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE PLEASED WITH AVL !! We used AVL Moving Systems for our move last weekend and they were great. After reading reviews about their major competitor, I originally wanted to go with them, but they were booked for our date.AVL was our second choice. We needed to pick up from two locations and deliver to one, and AVL offered to go to our first location the night before, store everything overnight, then go to our second location and then our new apartment the next day. We were thrilled with this arrangement and it didn't cost any more than their competitor. We had four movers - Andy, Titus, Paul and "new guy." They were right on time, called when they were on the way and kept us updated on when they were charging and when they weren't (they charged when they were driving to our first stop and sitting in traffic, but not when they stopped for dinner.) When they arrived, they hustled like crazy - my boyfriend and I felt like lazy pieces of crap watching them run up and down the stairs. It was the new guy's second day, so he had a little more trouble - he broke a light fixture at the top of our stairs carrying a desk. Paul apologized though and told us we can send him a bill for the light. We haven't done that yet, so I can't vouch for how easy it will be to get refunded, but we were happy no one got hurt. Our new apartment is on the third-floor with a somewhat difficult staircase. The four guys were up and down so quickly though that you never would have known how hard it was. They were extremely friendly and completely willing to move furniture all over the place. We packed everything in advance except for lamps, framed pictures and hanging clothes. They rented us wardrobe boxes for those things for $6/box. They quoted us about $1200 for two stops and one delivery to a third floor, 3 bedroom apartments. This included one bed, kitchen table and buffet, a couch and a computer, TV, entertainment center, several dressers and about 40 boxes. It took six hours over two days and they charged us $1274. Overall, they did a great job. Fast, friendly and efficient. No fancy uniforms or fancy truck or anything, and the light fixture did get broken and one dresser was scratched. Besides those things, though, we couldn't have been more pleased with AVL Moving Systems. We will definitely use them again! more

I cannot thank you guys enough for making our move such a hassle free and painless one! I found AVL Moving Systems on the web and decided to give them a try after pricing out a few on the list. They were by far the most reasonably priced. Another moving company that I called told me I need THREE guys to move our tiny 2 bedroom in law at $150/hour! Whatever!! On the day of our move, I was a bit nervous as I did not receive any phone calls from the movers or the owner. So I called the main number and must have talked to the owner. He assured me that his movers will call me after their first job and sure enough, they did! We had booked them for 2pm on a Saturday and they were even early! Two guys showed up and went to work immediately. We were moving from an in law in Tracy to Berkeley. They were able to wrap up all of our furniture in just under 2 hours and got to our new place. They even gave us wardrobe boxes with no extra charge! Of course, we had to give them back once we got to our new place, but some places charge you for "renting" their materials! They were so fast, efficient and careful with all of our furniture that we really didn't have to worry about anything. I've moved quite a few times now and this is by far the best experience I've had with movers. We will definitely use them again when the time comes! more

We just moved this weekend and this was our first time using a moving company. A friend of mine recommended them, and thank goodness she did. I called a few other places to get the low-down on costs and such, and one other place actually answered the phone, but they were such a hard sell (and didn't pay attention to the details during our conversation) that I decided not to bother with them. They were very straight-forward, and they did not do the hard sell at all. In the end, they ended up being cheaper than the other places (that all said they were the cheapest), and the service was phenomenal. At precisely the agreed-upon time, two big guys showed up, one who looked like he might be a bass player in a rock band on the weekends (but for you rock-band-phobic folks, he was totally professional and polite), and the other like he might be a beach bum on the weekends (also very professional and polite). They worked fast, and considering that they had two flights of stairs to work with, I was VERY impressed. They treated my more delicate things with gentleness and care, and were very patient with me during the whole process, which I imagine could be hard to do when it's hot outside, and your lugging someone else's stuff up and down stairs all day. When they unloaded my stuff into the apartment, they didn't just drop it all in one spot, they took care to deliver the boxes and furniture to their appropriate rooms and they even helped me set up the bed again. These guys were magnificent and I HIGHLY recommend their services to anyone in this area needing moving assistance. In all, a 4.5 hr day (with a 45-min drive) came out to just under $591.None but the movers from AVL Moving Systems more

AVL Moving Systems delivered my things on time and the workers were so polite and well mannered. I had a fairly large home and they had scheduled me for 4 movers and they worked very fast and efficient. Nothing could of went more smoothly I will recommend them to anyone that wants a reasonable and very quality move. more

AVL Moving Systems did a stellar job handling my move to San Diego. After having a very lets just say disorganized experience with a company company 4 years ago, I was adamant on not having the same experience. AVL Moving proved to me , by the way my move was planned, and how all details we discussed that I had made the right choice. The moving crew were friendly and too professional at their work.. Usually when I move, I make it ridiculously impossible for myself. Refusing to pack things into boxes, justifying holding onto unnecessary possessions because "I might need them someday," spreading out the process over a month instead of getting it done in a day...you get the picture. Not anymore! For my last move, Moving from San Mateo to Los Altos I had to start changing my ways - and that meant hiring professional movers. I found AVL Moving Systems on Yelp and could NOT have been happier with the results! Everything was transparent from the start..It was truly a wonderful experience to move with these people..obtaining an accurate quote, knowing how many guys/hours it would take...which I really appreciated. The guys from this company AVL Moving Systems were awesome and great problem solvers - even when people on my street decided to ignore the "no parking - Moving zone" signs, they thoroughly had to walk my furniture down the block :( So to sum it up: awesome dudes, extremely fair pricing, your possessions will be safe, and your friends won't hate you for making them strap your couch to the roof...... Fastest, smoothest and most efficient move I've ever had. I've recommended them to everyone! I'll be calling THEM again! They were truly amazing.Thanks AVL !! more

AVL guys were amazing. I had one week to find movers and the receptionist Angie was very helpful. She even requested to move up the time by half an hour (from 7:30am to 7am) since she wanted to make sure the guys had enough time to load my stuff before their next appointment at 11am. Friday, 7am - these guys all showed up right on-time. Awesome. They were very organized and after seeing all the stuff in the garage and condo, they went straight to work. They had one guy directing and the other 3 guys were running up and down the stairs. They were so polite...saying "excuse me" when they needed to get around us. I expected the loading to take 3.5 hours...but they were done in 2.5 hours. I was DEFINITELY IMPRESSED. It's great to find guys that have a solid work ethic. All the other movers that I researched had horrible reviews on yelp -- i.e. they dragged their feet and took much longer than the estimates. We did get compliments on our packing and wrapping with furniture pads from the guys. Said it made their lives a lot easier. more

AVL guys are amazing! Not only did everything arrive 100% in-tact, but I'm pretty sure some of my furniture arrived well than when it left - if that were possible. The guys were super nice, professional, polite, fast etc. Etc. Kind a like hiring your friends to help you move, except these guys really know what they are doing. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I definitely would. AVL MOVING SYSTEMS did a great job from start to finish...! more

My daughter moved out to her first apartment with a roommate last month. AVL movers had both girls picked up and delivered to their new home within a few hours - exactly what the salesperson had estimated. The crews were extremely polite, diligent, and efficient. They handled the furniture and personal items with care and professionalism. AVL movers made what could have been a stressful experience, a stress free experience! more

I can't say enough good things about AVL! Our house sold in just 3 days, and I was not prepared for the quick move that I had to make. Bill Boone worked with me to set up the pickup date on short notice. The movers were wonderful! Since I was temporarily moving my belongings into a storage facility till I could find a new home, they wrapped and quilted literally all my furniture. After 5 months in storage, AVL moving moved me into my new home, and not one single piece of furniture was damaged!!! I would recommend them to anyone who wants a great move. more

I don't usually post reviews; however, when someone does a really great job, I think that they deserve to be recognized. Bill was the moving consultant who scheduled our move. He was professional and helpful. The moving crew impressed me the most! The moving crew arrived on time and worked diligently to get the move completed as quickly and carefully as possible. I would like to thank the movers who worked so hard and were polite and professional throughout the move. I especially want to thank the supervisor, Cruz, who is an amazing supervisor. He and his crew (Pedro and Kalim) is the best moving crew. This move was the least stressful moving experience that I have experienced thus far. I would definitely use AVL Moving for my future moves and highly recommend them. I hope Cruz is still around for my next move! more

AVL is the best moving company EVER!!! I've shared three moves with these guys and have given their number to all of my friends . . . They are great - warm, friendly, hilarious, and professional . . . I will easily use them for any move, and their storage prices are really reasonable. I just recently used AVL Moving twice in one month for a very difficult move into a building in Russian Hill. These guys are great, hard working, and have a sense of urgency to make the move go well ... not to mention a great sense of humor. Kevin is the best! You won't be sorry if you choose them. more

We moved from Chicago to San Francisco & have been looking for a local go-to moving company for our business. Man, are these guys professional, quick and reasonably priced. We needed furniture moved from the Loop out to Oak Park & WIN Van Moving Systems completed the job in LESS THAN AN HOUR and for less than $200 total. As other Yelpers have said, these movers actually RUN from the freight elevator to the truck. We will be calling them again. Excellent service. more

I moved from my home in Florida into a condo in Dallas. I was recommended by a close friend to use AVL moving. At first I was skeptical after reading all the reviews, but I am truly glad I chose to work with them. When I called the rep was extremely helpful and professional.1 on my moving day, the two movers who assisted me was a tremendous help.
