BEST BIRD AND FISH STORE OUT THERE!!! 1/31/2011

My experience at The Aviarium was a GREAT one! Their sales people were extremely nice and helpful. They asked me if I needed help and because I didnt they left me alone until I was ready. The tall red headed guy helped me out and was very knowledgable. He was very kind and was up for answering any of my crazy questions. more

Horribly inflated pricing - not worth your time 7/16/2010

Currently on a wild goose chase to find a good LFS in the Gwinnett area. Tried this place since it seemed to have some good reviews. The prices are the flat out WORST I have ever seen. For instance, the Seachem line, which you can find in most stores in Georgia, was marked up by anywhere from 50% to 100% of the suggested retail price. More specifically; 1L of Seachem PhosGuard is supposed to go for $18, but at Aviarium it's being sold for $28! The API Tap Water Filter was going for close to 2.5 times its normal retail price, $100! I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Call them if you don't believe me. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, they obviously aren't interested in doing business with informed customers.? Cons: Horrible prices, very little staff more

bad store 6/21/2010

this store is one of the worst stores i have ever been to. the staff is rude there prices are crazy. i bouhgt a lion fish from there and two days later it died. a week later i went back in there just to look around. i noticed he had a dead lion fish in one of his tanks with few other lion fish in it . i told the guy he had a dead fish in this tank. he just laughed and told me he was half price. i was there fo 20 more minutes lookinf around . when i left the dead fish was still in the tank.anybody that is fish hobbist knows dead fish are puttting off ammonia in the tank he should have removed the fish when i should it him. i wonder why my lion fish did not live. his water levels are more than likely bad.i tested my levels in my tank when the lionfish died they were perfect.umm.i would never do busniness their again. i suggest nemo fish store lilburn ga or aquriam in duluth ga great stores and staff more

poor customer service 9/9/2009

staff don't want to be bothered with customers. there are two new stores in the area so the better get some training Pros: location Cons: horrible service more

This store is awsome 1/21/2009

This store is awsome! Every time i go to the store they have everything i need (or want) for prices better than online sellers after the outrageous shipping. Even though there is no warranty on saltwater fish its mostly the buyers fault if they die. Either they didn't acclimate the poor thing correctly or they don't have the correct water parameters. None of my Saltwater fish ive bought here died and very very few of my freshwater have died (about 1 out of 30). This store is a lot better than petco or petsmart for buying fish Pros: Very good selection, very reasonable prices, very healthy fish Cons: occasionally the store is messy when the get new shipments in more

Great store no warranty 11/29/2008

Ok, there's pro's and cons. They have a wide selection of saltwater fish at fair prices. I have purchased several very nice fish on two occasions. I bought 2 fish each time and 1 died and one lived. There is no warranty at all on saltwater fish. You would think they could test your water and if it checks out fine they could give you some sort of inhouse credit. NO. When you spend a hundred dollers+ on a fish makes you think twice about shopping there. Pros: Great selection on saltwater fish, live rocks and corls. Cons: No warranty and allright customer ervice more

The only fish store I shop at. 8/7/2008

I don't know what any of the bad reviews are for, because I love this store. I won't go to any petsmart/petco/walmart sort of place for my fish because of bad experiences, but this store has given me nothing to complain about. The staff has always been nice to me, and their answers are consistent with all the best advice I've ever been given. The only times I am not immediately asked if I could be helped are when the staff already has a ton of customers in the store. The prices are very fair, and I'm never afraid I'll be taking home a fish with any problems. Also, the selection of accessories tops any store I've ever been in. The only thing I wish they had more of are different kinds of goldfish, because I have a tank filled with every species I come across. Pros: It's like a trip to an aquarium (very pretty and well taken care of); great customer service. Cons: Wish it could be bigger to have more variety of goldfish. more

My new fish store (Marine and Fresh) 7/11/2008

I read some rather unpleasant reviews of the store before I went myself. Unfortunately, I would tend to agree with them, but they are virtually the only sustainable marine store on the northeast side of Atlanta so you get what you get. more

Choose your salesperson wisely 5/24/2008

There is a total lack of personality in this store with the exception of a young lady and a young boy. Stay away from the red headed boy and the middle age man...they really don't want to be bothered. I have no idea who owns this store, but I'd fire the red head and the middle age guy and hire two people with people skills...they'll learn the business in time. Other than those two it was a pleasant experience. more

Unhappy customer 3/13/2008

Freshwater selection is limited, no one seems to know anything, no guarantees on fish - bought a $20 clown fish (one of the cheapest fish they have next to damsels) which died on day 2 and they just said, ""sorry, we don't guarantee saltwater fish and I don't know of anywhere that does"". Countless times I've asked questions they don't know the answer to, they sold me freshwater ph increaser for a saltwater tank, and even when you get someone to help you, they seem distracted. It's unfortunate that they are the only saltwater place in my area. Pros: Only store in my area that sells saltwater fish Cons: Only store in my area that sells saltwater fish & no guarantees more

Great prices, great staff 8/18/2007

This is my favorite ""fishy"" store! I have been to many others around atlanta and this one is in my top two. I was given a great deal on a tank set up ,and couldnt be happier with it! I started keeping fish about 3 years ago , so I have lots of questions, all the time. The staff is so great about answering them and taking the time to really explain things. If, on occasion they dont know the answer, they will go out of their way to find it! I believe that these people really enjoy what they do and love to pass it on. Pros: customer service/ interesting species Cons: not enough tropical community fish more

Best fish store I've been to in metro area 7/16/2007

Great service and prices. Helpful staff. Nice selection. Much better experience than other local fish/aquarium stores. I have always been treated well when I go there. more

Neglected tanks and terrible service. 4/23/2007

The saltwater tanks appeared to have had little, if any, attention. The main coral tank had aptasia anemones growing on glass and corals. The only employee who spoke to me said I was ""talking to the wrong guy"". Pros: Dry goods were reasonably priced Cons: Dirty tanks and terrible service. more
