Avantgard Day Spa

I enjoyed the massage work but I do not like having your retail products being "advertised" while i am on the table...I feel it is inappropriate for Masseuses to be "selling" me products while I am wanting to let go of all thoughts and concerns ..... then whenI returned to pay my bill...the aforementioned products were lined up and waiting for me. TOO much pushing retail into my face. On a positive note...I do love the ambience of the rooms there. more

I came in for a 5 Star Facial and eye treatment with Monica and is was Amazing! From the cleansing to the peels to the masks it was all absolutely wonderful. Monica was so informative and really taught me a lot about my skin and how to care for it better. She left me with recommendations for skin care products based on my desired results. She was very personable and I left feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. I will definitely be going back again! more

I had a Therapeutic Massage last Friday, Sept 23rd. The massage was excellent, alleviated my leg & relaxed me very much. I am looking forward to my next massage Oct 10th. Thank you & the masseur Matt. more

really great service. i had a facial appointment to help clear up my acne and got way better results than i expected. they actually even gave me a special treatment for my face for free. completely cleared my face and ive never had these results. DEFFINITELY RECOMMEND more

I wasn't really impressed with my recent spa experience. The ambiance is beautiful, the front desk staff are helpful and professional but I was dissapointed with my services. Before my massage I I requested my back and hip be the areas of focus but she gave me a full body massage with barely any work to my hip. After the massage she recommended I come back in 2 weeks for my hip and recommended two products to use at home. Had the masseuse spent more time on that area I may have considered the follow up massage and the recommended products. After my massage I booked a wax service. It was great that I could be seen right away but the woman that did my waxing either burned my chin and eybrows or ripped the skin so I have little scabs that are still a little painful. She kept saying I was really red and recommended makeup but then when I got home I saw the damage. In addition, she had very bright overhead lights but didn't use any lights or magnifying glass for a closer look at what she was doing and I had to point out some areas that she missed. I was looking forward to brining a client to your Spa for the second time but was dissapointed with the experience. more

My massage with Andrea was FANTASTIC! She found every spot that has been bothering me and worked out every kink with her soothing touch. I wish I could see her everyday! more

I went to get my facial, It was my 20th anniversary and wanted to get a little of a treat for myself. The facial was nice but I really didn't feel like the 155 dollars I paid really helped!! The staff is very nice but they lack on explaining very well what each facial consists of and what facial should be good for every person. I got a 20 dollar coupon which they only discounted $10 off, I didn't want to argue about it but If they give 20 dollars off they should really honor it. more

Wonderful massage and a great experience. Deep tissue massage was more than I expected and exposed the knots alojng my siatica that definately need more work to loosen. Great staff. more

i came to avant gard to get my eyebrows tweezed. the questionnaire they had me fill out was very thorough- it asked me tons of questions about my skin type so that they could better assist me. jessica did my brows and she was GREAT! very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. not only did i leave avant gard with beautiful eyebrows but i really felt good about the way i was taken care of there. i will definitely be back! more

There are times when walking into a 'spa-like' salon is well worth the added value. Especially when greeted with a neck pillow and calming beverage. I requested my fave manicurist and she was waiting for me. Professionalism and calmness awaits when walking into AvantGard! more

Wonderful massage. The therapist listened carefully to my concerns and clearly tailored my massage accordingly. The decor is lovely and relaxing with lots of special touches. We recently moved to Redwood City and I will defintely be back and recommend the spa to friends. more
