I am new to Austin and i didnt really know where to take my vehicle to, I started searching on the web for local mechanic shops, when I saw all of the reviews for Brake Specialists in Cedar Park. So I went there and all the reviews where dead on, these guys are really good and very nice. The manager was awsome and didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I think I found my new shop. more

usually I do my own brakes, but i had never done brakes on a mercedes. the dudes at this shop got me all the right parts and performed the repairs same day for me. i got to talking to them and really enjoyed my time at the shop. more

my corvette had a check engine light come on while i was in cedar park so i stopped into the brake specialists location to have it checked because i live in buda and was in a hurry to get back.the technician they had working named kirk walked out to my car with the computer to read the code.he then came in and explained i had a code for my emissions system and all that had happened was the gas cap had not been tightened properly.he quickly tightened my cap,cleared my code and i was on my way in less than 15 minutes.its been over 2 months with no light back on.these are very honest,knowledgable people.they had me back on the road very quickly.even though i do not live in the area i would make the trip back for service.i was very impressed with the knowledge and skills of thier technicians. more

I blew my head gaskets on my Ford and had to bring it to Brake Specialists based on the good word of mouth that these guys have. It took about 3 days to get my truck back and it runs great again. The price was right in line with other shops and they made the my vehicle a priority to get done. My truck is alive again and I am very happy with my experience. more

I got my brakes done at the Brake Specialists out in Cedar Park last week. They used some noise free guarantee pads and there price for the job was right in line with other estimates that were using lesser quality pads. My brakes have been great so far! more

The dealership said I needed front and rear brakes on my Audi and that I was close to grinding at all 4 wheels. I went the the Brake Specialists in Cedar Park for a 2nd opinon on my brakes. They pulled all of my wheels and took me out to the vehicle to see the condition of my brakes. I had over 50% life left on all of the brakes on the vehicle. They did notice that I was over on my oil change, so I had them change my oil for me. I really apprecaited the honesty and I know where I am getting my brakes done when I need them. I had been driving my Chevy pickup around town and it felt like I was running on half of my cylinders. I dropped it off at the Brake Specialists on Bell Blvd in Cedar Park. They diagnosed my issue as having a clogged catalytic converter. I admitted to them that I hadn't tuned the vehicle up in the 200k that I owned the vehicle. Unfortunately, the vehicle had been dumping excess fuel into my catalytic converter which basically killed it. They installed a new oem converter on it and performed my tune up with a fuel injection service. The truck runs like it did when it was new. I will definitely stay up on the maintenance from now on. I like coming to the Brake Specialists in Cedar Park, because the manager always gives you options to fix your issues. I had some performance brake parts that I wanted to put on my vehicle and other shops had previously refused to install them. Patrick was more than happy to install my parts. He also gave me options on repairing some rear brake issues I was having and got me taken care of same day on the repairs. I appreciated the shop working with me and I will keep trying to refer more people to this shop. more

Let me start off by saying that the manager Patrick is just a ray of sunshine. He smiles everytime I come in and seems to really love his job. I finally had saved enough money to get the oil leaks on my Subaru's engine taken care of. They had to basically take apart the engine and replace almost all of the gaskets to reseal it. It took Patrick and his techs about 2 days to finish the job, since some of the gaskets had to be special ordered. I was really impressed with the job they did. They cleaned almost every inch of my engine as they put it back together. The engine almost looked new. If you live in Cedar Park, you need to stop by see Patrick for your repairs. He will treat you right. more

I was having some front end issues with my Dodge Ram 3500HD. The front end felt like it was ice skating on the road (very loose). I brought the truck over to Brake Specialists and they showed me that the ball joints were trashed. They priced me out some ball joints and an alignment which I thought was a fair price. I recently had all 4 of my struts changed out on my Toyota Camry at the Brake Specialists in Cedar Park. My car rides great now and I am sure this will help with my tire cupping problem that I was having. This shop was competitive on the strut pricing and alignment. They also identified an oil leak coming from my valve cover gaskets and my radiator hoses were becoming very soft. I will definitely go back to them for the valve cover work and the radiator hose replacement. They performed the work in the estimated time and they were very friendly the entire time. It was a pleasure to get my work done at this shop. more

I brought my brother's Chevrolet 2500HD in for some work about a month ago. I was worried about some coolant that we were finding where ever the vehicle was parked. The staff diagnosed the coolant leak for me very quickly and then replaced the bad water pump for me in a very reasonable amount of time and at a good price. I appreciate the help and the honesty at this location. I will make sure to send you all some referrals. more

This Brake Specialist was recommended to me by the local Discount Tire where I had new tires put on my 2006 Honda. One of the tires had irregular wear, so I went to brake specialists to have them check the alignment. They said my alignment was fine but that one of the struts was 'leaking a small amount of fluid'. Well, I took the car home, removed the wheel and checked for myself and I didn't see a single ounce of hydraulic fluid anywhere. So, I then took it to the Honda dealership where it was still under warranty and they double checked each strut and shock and said that everything was fine and there was no hydraulic fluid leak anywhere. Pros: 'friendly' personalities Cons: these folks will lie to you to make a buck more

I did not have any issue with my transmission until I made a mistake and left it for service at Brake Specialist. After a normal transmission service (fluid change, fluid flush, and filter change) as soon as I left the lot I notice my truck was horrible and stuck in 2 or 3 gear. Once I complained about my issues, the VP of the company he just stated he did not put the miles on the vehicle and was not willing to assist. While posing as a potential customer, 4 different companies refused to do any work on my car fearing it can cause problems. This seems to be common knowledge in the industry with the exception of Brake Specialist. I received the same comment from 2 total car care service centers and 2 different transmission repair companies, good to know we do have some honest companies. I had to have my transmission worked on by a transmission specialist. So if you are interested in keeping your money go anywhere but here. Additional Cost to fix transmission $1000.00. more

I really wanted to like this place because it was close to my home, but it was not to be. I went in for a simple inspection and oil change, with an appointment, and was told I would have to wait. So what was the point of making an appointment? The owner, Corey, was exceedingly condescending and rude. When he figured out that I needed new belts he became nicer then. Of course.....it was an additional $200 in his pocket. We sat there for over two hours. It was awful. I do not recommend this place, nor it's employees. Pros: Is easily accessible Cons: Everything else. more
