Good location in downtown Alexandria. The food was quite good and well-priced, especially considering the location. Atmosphere is warm and comfortable (if a bit simple), and the second floor certainly makes the space much larger. Service was quick and friendly. more

Good for families 5/17/2006

Also a great restaurant to take kids (especially around 6pm). The atmosphere is noisy so nobody minds them and they bring out chips and salsa straight away which is great for hungry little ones with no patience. Food is good standard mexican and service is usually pretty good however may have to wait for a table between 7-9pm most nights. The limeade is great too! more

Great Selection 4/28/2006

Austin Grill has a very impressive menu, including clearly marked sections with low fat and vegetarian options. This is usually difficult to find with Mexican restaurants, so I enjoy going here for a guilt-free night out. Old Town is a very fun area, but you will most likely need to find a parking garade. I agree with the other reviewer as well, the salsa is soo delicious! more

Killer margaritas! 12/11/2005

Austin Grill is a great local restaurant right in the heart of Old Town. Their Tex-Mex food is excellent -- they have all of the standard burritos and fajitas, but also some inventive entrees you've probably never had before. They make their tasty salsas from scratch, but we always eat so many chips and salsa we can hardly finish our dinner! Definitely try the shrimp tacos, they have a great chipotle sauce and are coated in a spicy marinade. But perhaps the best thing here is the margaritas. They make them with real lime juice (no sugary drink mixes here!) and they don't go light on the tequila either! more
