Austin Architectural Graphics

I was shooting a corporate video over at Action Figure with a pretty good sized crew. We were using a teleprompter for the talent. When you shooting high definition optical flaws can be readily apparent and we had scratches on the plexiglass in the prompter. So I sent an assistant out to find a new piece of plexiglass and we needed it in a hurry. He found Austin Architectural Graphics, he communicated that we needed a 12""x16"" eighth inch thick piece of plexiglass, the people there knew they had him over a barrel and ended up charging us $90 for 12""x16"" eighth inch thick piece of plexiglass! A $45 dollar rush fee for a job that took them less than 3 min to do. Businesses have every right to charge what they want but the ethics of this are very slimey. The people that did this have very little character. Just to check I called Regal Plastics who quoted me $61.27 for a 4 FOOT by 8 FOOT! sheet and a $15. cutting fee for a total of $76.27 Shame on you Austin Architectural Graphics!! more

I used AAG to make a large plexiglass sign. The sign looks great. The designer was accommodating and professional. My boss had several rounds of nit-picky changes. No problem. There were lots of samples for me to look at to get a good idea of what I had to choose from ahead of time. I will use them again. more

I have worked with AAG many many times over a 20 year period. I've tried cheaper sign shops, but always come back to AAG because they typically get it right the first time - but are more than willing to fix any problems fast. They do the big, important jobs: Texas Capitol, Blanton Museum, State History Museum, Harry Ransom Center, etc. Although they are a large shop, the owner stays very involved with every project. They also keep an archive of completed projects, so when you need additional coordinating signage, color specs and graphics are on file and ready to go. No job too small but also handle the large, complex jobs with ease. Locally owned. Highly recommended. Pros: Can handle large or small custom sign jobs with ease. Design services available. Cons: May seem high-priced, but outstanding value in the long run more

This is a response to lancemcd's negative review of Austin Architectural Graphics. This is a sign shop, not a custom screen printing shop. They create environmental graphics, way-finding signage, things of that kind. Not screen printed frisbees. So I think lancemcd has confused this company with someone else, perhaps Austin Screen Graphics. I have found AAG's prices to be very competitive and their work exceptionally good, but I've always asked them to create signs, not screen-printed frisbees. Pros: Creative solutions more

I have asked for quotes from these guys on 2 occasions. Both times they were over priced. I don't mean 125% too much, I mean 27000% too much. Pros: nice salesrep Cons: insanely overpriced more
