I have enjoyed Augys of Boca Raton cuisine for many years and now it got even better.\r
Two restaurateurs from Long Island, New York, have taken over the place; they are Angelo, former owner of La Pace in Glen Cove and Pietro, former owner of Veranda in Glen Cove and Classico in Roslyn Estates.\r
The pizza, the sauces and the menu are still the wonderful Augys recipes but make sure you check out the specials, they have a dozen daily. The stuffed artichoke is a must try, the snapper Provencal, made with fresh tomatoes, garlic and white wine sauce is out of this world, the baked clams oreganata are the best in Boca and when on the special the best bargain as well (you get 12 clams for $ 9.95)..\r
They also offer whole wheat pizza and whole wheat linguine.\r
It looks like Augys has become the place to satisfy the palate and meet old friends from New York. The evening I was there I met six New Yorkers and formers patrons of La Pace and Veranda.\r
I have known Angelo and Pietro and have dined in their Four Star establishments for the last 25 years and I wish to say to them: Welcome to Boca Raton and we love you.\r
