Best

I've been coming to asuka for little awhile now, I've always had their sushi which is great however, I tryed their kitchen item for the firest time. I must say it was unexpectedly...

Worst

Half size rolls compared to better sushi in the area. Shiki Sushi near Southpoint mall and Tazu it's sister restaurant in Brier Creek are amazing. Asuka is good but just doesn't ...

oh mu gu! 1/22/2006

How good is their food! I have been eating sushi for years, but have just recently stumbled upon Asuka. It is hands down, the best sushi I've ever had!!! There is something there for everyone, & I mean everyone! Even if you don't like sushi (God forbid), you'll love their chicken terriaki! Wonderful! A+++++ Pros: SUSHI!!!!! more

not so great anymore 11/10/2005

I use to have another message on here raving about how great this place was. Once the new management and remodeling took over, I am just not that amped about it anymore. The food is still pretty good, but the atmosphere makes the restaurant seem a little pretentious. It kind of ruined my dining experience. And the prices have gone up a bit too. I just don't feel very welcomed here anymore. Pros: food Cons: atmosphere more

Not in Top 10? 7/6/2005

After reviewing CitySearch's Best of Triangle Sushi list, I was very surprised that Asuka didn't crack the Top 10. Then again, I wonder how many of the sushi voters have made it to this little jewel in M'ville. It's a regular on my sushi hit-list, and since I shy away from ranking restaurants, I'll just say that it's one of the best around, dollar for dollar. Great attitudes from the wait staff also. Pros: exc. sushi/sashimi, smiling staff, no wait to sit down Cons: pricey, but worth it more

Tasty but not soopersooshi 5/18/2005

We always have a pleasant experience at Asuka but it isn't anything spectacular. If you're in the area it's worth going to. We rarely wait to be seated and get good service but nothing spectacular. I've had slow service when in one of the special private rooms (not that kind). The highligh here is that the food is quite good. The specialty sushi rools are very tastee. Pros: food, location Cons: average atmosphere more

Exceptional service!! 1/1/2005

I went to Asuka on New Years Eve night and had a wonderful evening. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was great! We were greeted by most every staff member as we walked in and immediately taken to our table. Our server was friendly and very professional as he took our order. He gave up suggesions and was accommadating with our special drink order. The experience was great and we will return again and again!! Pros: selection, atmophere, quality more

Hidden Asian Cuisine 12/9/2004

Asuka is a little off the beaten path. The sushi is remarkably good, along with the staff. The prices are a bit above the norm, but the wide and varied selection more than makes up for it. When I'm in the Morrisville area and craving sushi, I'll be sure to return. Pros: Parking, Staff Cons: , Location more

Outstanding Sushi in Morrisville 10/24/2004

Excellent Sushi and Sashimi, When we relocated to the Triangle 2 years ago from New York we weren't optomistic about finding a ""decent"" Japanese restaurant. Fortunately we were wrong....Asuka has exceeded our expectations in all areas, The food is outstanding, The Service is friendly and prompt (They can get a little behind when crowded), The atmosphere authentic and comfortable. Our Favorite Sushi Resaurant in NY got their fish Fresh daily from the Fulton fish Market, and Montauk Long Island....Asuka's fish appears just as Fresh! And the cooked food is just as remarkable. Pros: Freshness, Friendly, Delicious Cons: , Can get crowded more

Wonderful 8/31/2004

The decor and the food are wonderful. It's definately the best Japanese restaurant in around. They have great sushi, and it's a great place to go on a date. more

LOVE IT!!!! 7/20/2004

MAN... who invented this absolute, gorgeous, perfect, place. It was unbelievable. When i walked in there, I felt very honorable by them when they said ye la sha ma say. The service was wonderful!!! Food was awesome. I recommend going there if you like the feeling of being the king or the queen. Pros: private rooms, waiters and waitress, food more

Hot and Spicy 3/25/2004

My husband and I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. It doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is a bounty of fresh and creative dishes. If you like it hot, try the spicy salmon roll. Pros: fresh, no wait more

Perhaps the best sushi in the Triangle! 9/30/2003

I am a sushi fanatic and have eaten at most of the sushi restaurants in the Triangle. Asuka is currently my favorite, after some disappointing visits to Waraji. I have one word to describe the sushi here- perfect! The rolls are impeccable and the fish very fresh. Try the Cobia or white tuna. I highly recommend the rainbow roll or scallop roll. The tempura is the best I've ever had. The menu has pictures of every dish which is great for newcomers to Japanese cuisine. This is authentic cuisine with Japanese staff. Oishi des! Pros: Excellent Sushi, The Best Tempura, Beautiful Decor more

Great place to eat SUSHI 8/1/2003

Have only been once but our experience was great. The restaurant is plenty big, the atmosphere is very nice and authentic as well. The staff was extremely courteous and the food is incredibly good. They also have one of the largest selections of Sushi that I have yet to see in the Triangle. So not only is Asuka a great restaurant, it's just around the corner, and our new #1 choice for Sushi anytime. You can't go wrong with this place. Pros: Great atmoshpere, Excellent selection, Courteous staff more

WOW, what a change! 5/13/2003

I will never return! And sad to say, it was once the ONLY Japanese restaurant we would visit. Menu the same, but prices now much too high. Service is poor, short-staffed at tables and sushi bar. We asked for chirashi without tomago (omelette), it arrived with tomago, the waiter apologized but ""sorry, no substitution""! This is bush league, diner-grade attitude! Started to pack it into a take-home box, but quit when the odor of the whitefish was sickening. Sorry, Asuka, you need to fix it NOW! Pros: Decor/Ambience, Pleasant Greeters, Wide Variety Cons: Poor Attitude, Poor Service, High Prices more

Don't waste your money. Horrible! 2/23/2003

Asuka was the worst experience I have ever had at a Japanese Restaurant. I am not sure how this restaurant has any return customers. The waitstaff doesnt know the menu. It takes over an hour to get your food. Then another 20 min after you ask for your check you are told to pay at the front. The food is mediocre and over priced. The owner is rude! The hostesses (which include the owner) are so disorganized that they cant remember who paid and will put your money in the tip box instead of the register. Then hold you hostage until they can determine their mistake. Dont waste your time or money. Pros: good parking Cons: expensive, bad service more

A great little sushi spot 2/11/2003

Even though I am not a fan of sushi, I love Asuka. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I've been for dinner and for lunch, and neither will dissapoint. If you go with a group, then you can request the side rooms where you sit on the floor in a legless chair and the floor is actually cut out under the table, so it mimics the western style sitting position. To top the room off it comes equipped with a button to summon the waiter/waitress when you are needing something... this ensures privacy. Anyways, enough about the side rooms, the food is yummy, the staff is great, the location in Morrisville is central to all of the Triangle. And if you are still there after closing on a weekend night, you might just catch the staff battling it out with karoake, which is a funny sight. Pros: Great Food, Nice Ambiance, Friendly Staff Cons: Can be expensive more

WOW! 1/31/2003

Great Service Great Sushi Great Restaurant! This is a hidden jewel of a restaurant. more

authenthic Japanese 10/30/2002

I've nerver been to a Japanese Restaurant where people are so freindly and curtis, and it shows as you walk in to the Restaurant, when I enter the restaurant every employees greeted bysaying ""yi ra sha ee ma se"" which means Welcom. It was a pleasing exparience. To speak about the food I've never been to such Japanese restaurant where they had so much to choose from, the list of the menu was pleasently different from the rest. and Quality of food also stood out from the rest. Pros: great amostpher, good interior, PrivteTatami Room more
