Asset Management Specialist

COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HAPPY TO LEAVE THIS POORLY MANAGED COMPANY. From my experience working as a temp. at AMS, inc. is that temps. are not respected or regarded equally as regular employees and there for HR will treat you as a disposable cog. This company has a turnover rate close to 100% which is a clear indication that things are not handled properly in this business. My temp assignment was terminated quite senselessly. IF YOU ARE A STAFFING FIRM, YOU BETTER EXPECT TO BE REFUNDING YOUR CLIENTS BECAUSE AT AMS, INC. THEY LIKE TO TERMINATE TEMPS. AT THE DROP OF A HAT. This is not a professional atmosphere. I started with AMS as a direct hire into their management department. I left my old job for various reasons and found this company to be straightforward. However, after three weeks of working with them my position was terminated without any inidication. HR was kind, but it was explained that the owners just didn't want another layer of management involved. I found this to be very offensive and extremely unprofessional considering that I left a position where I was employed for almost five years to begin a new career. I would recommend to any professional who is considering this venture to look elsewhere. Lack of direction seems to be the management style here and unfortunately the turnover rate is poor because the view is that the employees are just temps with an easily replaceable attitude. One star because my pay was at least respectable for my skill level. Also, as a side note, parking is horrible here. People get tickets daily because the facility doesn't have enough space for the amount of employees they have and people are forced to park illegally on a daily basis. more

Very unprofessional workplace. I graduated with a Bachelor's in HR and the way that place is run is outlandish. Even though I watched numerous employees constantly being let go, I was under the influence that I was going to be kept on board. I was let go the day I was going to put a bid on a house. I was told that I was putting too much time into my own business (which was open only on weekends). This was a Monday through Friday position only, so I did not understand their reasoning. When asked if I could sit down and talk I was given a short ""No"" and ""get out"". I watched two managers get the ax and over 45 temps let go. If you are a temp agency, I would not recommend sending anyone there. If you are looking for a stable position, this is not your place either. more

I am surprised what some people have to say about this company! In all honesty, I would like to remain unknown but I currently work at ams and have been a happy employee for the past couple months. I know of allison and donna and i do not agree what has been said about them. Allison, is stern and assertive, she is the first manager ive ever worked for who actually, genuinly cares about the work that she is doing, I cant blame her if there is a high turn over rate because she has expectations on people. Its true, I dont talk to the upper management or see them frequently but I work with the team lead in my department and work with the managers that are in my department. NOT ONCE, have i felt belittled or disrespected. Seems like this people were just scared to speak up or mad because they were terminated! more

I recently resigned from AMS and I would like to state that it was the most unacceptable environment that I have ever worked in. The management uses obscenities to employees. Nothing is addressed to Human Resources and the abuse is ongoing. I am not surprised that the turnover rate is so high for this company. I would never recommend anyone to this place of employment. more

I currently working at Asset Masnagement Specialist. I'm with a temp agency and would not like to mention their name in this review. However, my experience working at this organization is the worse. I work for someone by the name of Donna and Allison. Donna is suppose to be the boss in the department but she just does what Allison tells her. Mind you...Allison is just a corrdinator...Donna's the boss. At like one. In our weekly staff meetings....Donna makes it a point to discuss personal HR issues with employees on an open floor. I was so HAPPY to see that now our HR Manager attends the staff meetings. Maybe she'll see this and can make some changes. I would go to her directly...however, I'm scared that my boss, Allison, may fire me if she finds out. I've seen her fire someone just because they brought something to her attention. I guess she doesn't like open communication. That and her whole staff is temps...so we're all very replaceable. =(\r \r Allison is my main complaint. During my 1st week on this assignment...an employee tells her that she found a perm job. Allison screams, ""You're so fu&^king unprofessional!"" and storms to her Donna's office. Really?!! But you're professional Allison?! Please! She treats her team like crap....gets annoyed if we have questions. Sweety, we're temps that just started. Maybe you should provide us with proper training and not have someone that started last week train new employees. Everyone in the HPIR department is very unprofessional...they curse on the work floor....constant chit chat. Allsion does poor quality work and is satisfied with it just to meet deadlines. I don't think anyone really checks her quality of work. I'm scared its all going to blowup in her face one day. She doesn't lead by example: she tells employees not to wear jeans on week days except for Fridays but she wears them all week. \r \r It's sad....the place itself isn't a bad organization but their lack of professionalism really makes this place awful to work for. I treat people with respect and would like to get treated the same in return. \r \r I really hope someone from Asset Management Specialist reads this and action is taken. It's ashame that I don't feel like I can talk to management there because I'm in fear of lossing my job. more
