I chose to go to Aspen Dental because it is a provider in my upcoming dental plan, and on their website it states that they accept walk-ins and emergencies. I drove there and told the receptionists that I had a broken tooth and could they squeeze me in? They made little eye contact and their answers were vague. "I don't know if you can be seen." I said, "what about tomorrow?" "I don't know, you can come in if you want but I can't tell you if you'll be seen. You can fill out the paperwork if you want..." Altogether, they came across as uncaring and apathetic. I have never in my life gone to a dentist office where they didn't offer sympathy when you had a dental emergency. Even in a dental school clinic! I asked for clarification of their policies - the website said you take walkins and emergencies - and they said yes we do, but we don't know if or when you can be seen.
