If I have one criticism, it's not to use your techs as salesmen. I think you should advertise products and services to customers (via e-mail or USPS mailings) and if the customer has questions, then the tech can go into detail (e.g., electronic filters, humidifiers, UV bacteriostatic lights, etc.). I realize all service organizations do this, especially automotive repair shops (mostly dealers) but I don't like it. Also, I like the way App Camp gives back to the community. I don't notice a lot of other local HVAC businesses doing this. more

I HAVE USED THEM ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND USUALLY THE TIME YOUR STUFF BREAKS IN ON A WEEKEND OR A HOLIDAY . They came out to repair quickly and kept the price down and my air conditioning was fixed . Also used then for new construction on my basement bathroom & they did an excellent job ! more

Polite, Professional & Proficient 6/4/2014

My heat pump, which I have to admit has lacked good maintenance for a while now, was not only cooling poorly but began freezing up when attempting to satisfy. A friend recommended Appleton~Campbell. This morning, a young man showed up at my door, earlier than promised and 10 minutes after a call was received saying he'd be there within 15. He was so polite and professional I was comfortable with him before he got his little boots on to protect my carpet from soiled feet. He quickly assessed the unit and only gave priority to those services that were critical to the units operation and made recommendations for those services to benefit peak performance. Not even a hint of a hard sell or pressure toward additional repairs. My tech "Chris" was a GEM and an absolute pleasure to have in my home. I now have a service agreement and look forward to doing business with these folks again :) I've already recommended them and will continue to do so... did I mention how cool it is in here? more

Incomplete Service 6/2/2014

Last winter when I was without heat, Appleton and Campbell responded quickly and professionally. It was my first time using them. I could not have been happier, although my furnace required a new circuit board and gas igniter, neither of which are cheap. The service man was very knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time troubleshooting the problem and explaining things he was looking for and the final diagnosis. Based on that experience, I paid for annual checkup of my HVAC system - summer and winter. Last week, a polite and courteous technician arrived at my house on schedule. Did I mention AC does superlative job advising customers about arrival times. However, my concern was the lack of information on the form left by the tech. None of the blocks were checked regarding what he said he did. The only thing he said was the Freon was excellent. The forms he left mentioned several things that needed correcting (i.e. grass on the coils, no cleanout on the furnace located in the attic, uninsulated suction line etc.) Grand total for that work $about $800. No mention of readings taken, if they were, and no boxes checked in the HVAC Checklist. Perception being what it is, it appeared that the visit was one to find things wrong to get $800 worth of additional business. Quite frankly, two of the jobs cost me about $12 in material and very little personal labor to accomplished what the estimate of almost $300 to fix by AC. Overall, I am satisfied with AC but I was deeply disappointed in this visit and the lack of information on a checklist. I called and complained to the service manager. He offered to send another tech out at no cost to do another check-up. I told him to do what he thought was best. We shall see. I did not give only one star because of one visit. The first visit deserved more than five stars more

I had a new heat pump system installed (I chose to have it replaced). The work that they did, along with the coordination and follow-up by their organization, was super impressive. You will not find a better firm to do business with. Trust them. Give them the keys to your house, and go on vacation while they do their thing. They are that much a class act company. They will do the right thing - do the job right - even when you, the customer, are not watching. more

I would never use anyone else to take care of my plumbing, air conditioning and electrical needs. The technicians are very knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. The company never charges more than what they estimate the job at hand. Appleton Campbell treats everyone like family! more

Furnace dies night before vacation 4/8/2014

Thank you for coming to our rescue late in the day, the night before our vacation. Our furnace stopped working unexpectedly and the nights were dipping into the 50s. We were able to finance a great deal and take some much-needed time off. The entire crew was wonderful to work with - from the customer service rep on the phone to installation to follow up. An excellent experience even though circumstances were not. Professional and great service! more
