DO NOT TRUST YOUR HEALTH TO THESE INCOMPETENT QUACKS 8/21/2011

DO NOT TRUST YOUR HEALTH TO THESE PEOPLE! They are both incompetent and uncaring. After waiting over two weeks for test results, since ""their lab"" screwed up one of the tests, their doctor, on the basis of a minimal examination and a vague test result, told me that it was almost certain that I had herpes. Fifteen minutes with a different and competent doctor told me that this was absolutely not the case and that their doctor was COMPLETELY wrong in her diagnosis, which she would have discovered if she had taken basic diagnostic steps like a visual inspection or asking me a couple basic questions. The mental anguish and grief this caused me was unbelievable and she did not seem to care at all that she had basically told me that my life as I knew it was over. The test that she told me was a ""herpes test"" actually is a broad spectrum test that indicates a recent infection of almost any sort, most doctors wont even run it as it has almost no diagnostic value, it is however very expensive to run (hmm...) In addition their office staff was rude and failed to return or forward information. Their medical assistant gave me potentially dangerous and factually incorrect medical information over the phone concerning a test result. In short this place is hands down the worst and most uncaring medical provider I have ever been to. DO NOT GO HERE! more

Concerned About Profits Not My Health 4/21/2010

The lobby has a tv showing one commercial after another pimping all kinds of drugs. \r \r I when for a pap smear and physical with Scott (a doctor there). It was clear I knew more about birth control options than he did. I told him I wanted to be on birth control until my wedding which was about 6 months away then plan to try to get pregnant. He suggested a pill (brand name expensive one) because you don't get your period every month on it. I told him that research shows that it can take up to 18 months to ovulate after going off that pill. NOT a good option for someone who wants to get pregnant soon. He must recommend that to everyone because he gets a good deal from the company that supplies it.\r \r My experience with Tracy (the NP) was more positive. But after multiple visits (which they require due to office policy) she was quick to order tests and suggest brand name prescriptions. The expensive pill she first put me on gave me symptoms of depression. I did my own research and found the mini-pill to be a good alternative, she wrote the script for me and wanted to give me a script for an anti-depressant. I resisted and she strongly suggested I come back in a few weeks so she can give me an anti-depressant if I'm still sad. I'm 37 years old have no history of depression, no family issues with depression or mental disorders.... and the first time in my life I get the symptoms was on the pill she prescribed. She was pretty aggressive about trying to get me on an anti-depressant without much cause. \r Pros: staff is friendly, easy to get appointments Cons: clearly the pharmaceutical companies own this place more

Not well treated 9/2/2009

I came here in January 2009 and was treated VERY WELL by the PA Paul Mack. The guy was just awesome. he even helped me a problem I had that I wasn't there to see him about. Great guy. This review though is for Dr. Mia Scott and Shawna at the Front Desk. My Friend was misdiagnosed in August, 2009 for Swine Flu. The Doc told her she has Bronchitis but three days later told her it was Swine Flu. My Wife told the Doc she had Flu symptoms but Dr. Scott convinced her otherwise. Do NOT go and see Dr. Scott. Only go to Paul Mack if at all to this place Pros: location and the PA Paul Mack Cons: Rude Front Desk and Head Doc more

disorganized 8/6/2009

This place is fine as long as there's nothing actually wrong with you (just like Canada!). If you're waiting for test results, be prepared to be frustated and treated rudely.\r \r Also expect to have to make several appointments for test results, exam, discussion, etc. They're understaffed but they still want as many co-payments as they can get. Pros: Doctors are fine Cons: front desk staff rude and incompetent more

This place is the WORST 11/20/2008

They've lost test results for several of us in the office who have come here and don't communicate at all with their patients. Go somewhere else! more

Great staff, ridiculous billing 4/16/2008

I have gone to this office for a couple of years now, and the staff is always pleasant, however they don't choose to use labs that work with major insurance carriers. As such, I recently began receiving large bills for normal testing resulting from a routine physical. I'm hugely offended that they can't be bothered to have alternative lab options (or notify you that you will not be covered, and will need to pay out of pocket), I use United Health Care, which is one of the largest insurance companies, but due to the management's lack of concern for their customers, and I now get stuck with a large bill. Thanks so much for your consideration, management of Apex Family Medicine; I truly appreciate your attentiveness to make sure your patients are handled appropriately. Pros: Pleasant, and friendly staff Cons: Inconsiderate management and billing. more
