Apartment Movers

I hired this company for my move back in November 2009, and it was an absolutely horrible experience. The customer service rep I had was great, so I thought this might be a good company. WRONG. First, they didn't show up until two hours AFTER my window ended. About an hour before the window ended, I was starting to get worried so I called them and got transferred to the dispatch office. They told me that the truck was delayed and gave me an estimate of when the truck would show up. They were very rude about it, and acted as though I was bothering them by calling for an update. It was clear that no one had any intention of letting me know they were going to be late. When they finally arrived, only one of them spoke English. He stopped constantly to point out nicks and flaws in my furniture (for example, the coffee table had a ding in it) so that I wouldn't try to hold them responsible for it. They also refused to move our flat panel TV because they said they had no way to secure it! I ended up having them put it in the backseat of my car, but not without a lecture about how they weren't responsible for it if it got damaged. It took them two and a half hours to move a one bedroom apartment to another apartment half a mile down the road. When I initially gave them the money, I only had twenties, and he said he couldn't give me change. When they started to go over the time limit, he tried to make me pay for an extra hour even though they were horrifically late, slow and already had an extra 10 bucks. \r \r Even if you have to pay more money somewhere else, don't use this place. I would rather have spent twice as much and had a smooth moving experience than go through this nightmare. I'm moving again in another month, and I will NOT be hiring these guys. I scheduled the movers to come on a Monday, but the situation required me to postpone. The representative I dealt with kept calling me for the next two days, twice a day. Finally, I scheduled Wednesday morning for that same evening at 6:30pm. The representative said that was no problem. Then I someone from the moving crew call and confirm a couple of hours later. 45 minutes before they were supposed to arrive, the driver called and said that the truck wouldn't start. The driver told me that there was nothing he could do I had to call the manager on call. I did. The manager said there was nothing he could do either. My personal belongings were left outdoors all night and most were stolen. There refused to accept responsiblity or reimburse me! What kind of professionalism is to blame the customer! more

This was the first time that I used this service and the experience was a NIGHTMARE!!! I was scheduled to have the movers arrive from anywhere between 2p-6p. After waiting all day and never receiving a courtesy call I called the customer service # who told me that they were delayed due to the rain. They promised they would have me moved that day no matter what time it was. After waiting till 10p I started calling the driver who never ansered his phone. Needless to say they never showed up!! When I tried to contact Apt. Movers the assistant Manager was rude and made it seem like it was my fault. Think twice before using Apartment Movers. Cons: Worst Customer Service/Managment more
