Why are there HUNDREDS of Subways and Quizno's in the Houston area? Because the market was WIDE OPEN for them in the 80's and 90's when Antones was the only competition with their dull and lifeless pickle-flavored sandwiches. ""Nuf said! There are over 300 Subways alone that are nearly all very profitable due to careful growth and store placement. more

Po-Boys Worth Traveling For 3/3/2007

I love this Antone's because they still serve the Piggy Po-Boy! If I still lived in Houston, I would probably eat here at least once a week. I dream about the place all the time and I hope that a visit is in my near future. I am only an hour and a half from Houston, but when I get the urge for a Piggy, that is TOO far! The restaurant itself also has a great atmosphere... very relaxed and casual with a European flavor to it. I brought a friend of mine from France to eat there and he loved it as well. Long live Antone's! Pros: Atmosphere, service, selection Cons: In all honesty, I cannot think of any more

This place is the definition of awesome. My dad's been coming here ever since he was a boy, and I've grown up on their smoked turkey po'boys and chow chow myself. The employees are always very kind and eager to help you, and the way the deli is run is reminiscent to the way delis were handled back in the old days. Check this place out! You will NOT be disappointed. Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great service more
