This place was recommended by a friend and we had to make a decision to put our puppy to sleep. Their service was professional and truly showed empathy toward us. We have never been there before and we felt like we were part of their clientale. Thank you so much for making this sad transition easier. more

Great service. 10/14/2013

I've been going to Animal Health Care Center for a long time. My first dog had kidney problems and was under the vets care for a long period of time. They had to put her down cause it got too bad. They were really great at solving problems with allergies that were happening to my new dog. We go the right treatments and my new dog is doing just fine. I really like the vet. She's really great. Their customer service is really great too. I trust them, so I'll keep going back. more

Very professional and excellent care 10/7/2013

Just today, my dog got dental service done. A year ago, I had another dog who had quite a few large bladder stones and she had to have surgery. They put her on a treatment including specialized food after the surgery and we've had follow up x-rays where we haven't seen anymore stones show up. We also had an emergency with one of our dogs and we had to get in right away and they were willing to help us right then. They always do a followup call to see if you have any questions and we certainly had some, so much so, we went down to the office to get more information. They're always helpful and I'm really happy with the care my dogs have been given. I trust Animal Health Care Center to give the best best care. Connie & Brad M. more

Caring, thorough service. 10/1/2013

We started out with Animal Health Care Center over ten years ago when we bought our black pug. Before that we had cats. Our black pug's doctor has taken care of him ever since he was a baby. Five years ago we bought another pug and she's taken care of that one as well. The girls at the front change from time to time, so there will sometimes be training issues, but nothing major. You get good service when you go there. You get told everything you need to know. Everything is explained to you and if you have any questions, they're always answered. They don't ever seem like they're in a big rush to shoo you out the door. I think they may still take care of Renton's K-9 unit as well. The doctor has another office now, but I know she did at one time, and I'm sure those dogs wouldn't be going anywhere that wasn't good. more

AHCC saved my pet but they charged me for it! They suck! 9/28/2013

My dog was hit by a bus and badly injured on a Monday and I brought him to this vet for immediate treatment on the following Saturday at 5pm because my regular vet was closed. These bastards at AHCC were also closed! I couldn’t believe it! Is it too much to ask that AHCC be open during our time of need!? While I was placing a nasty note on their door describing my serious displeasure that they closed during a time when we needed help, my dog got loose & was limping round their parking lot, when….. BAM! He was hit by another bus! Now I’m really $@!#%! I mean really, who lets buses into their parking lot especially when they’re closed! God, now I really hate this vet! It’s all their fault! Could I have gone to the ER? NO, who’s got time for that, besides its all AHCC’s fault anyway so they should have to take care of my dog. AHCC was open the next day (Sunday) but we had plans, clearly that wasn’t going to work either. So I did the next most logical thing and brought my dog in that next Friday at 5:57 pm for immediate treatment (11 days after he was first injured). He had multiple broken bones and some internal injuries. By this time I was sooo worried that he wouldn’t make it, I told the doc at AHCC to just do whatever it takes to make him better, cost is no object when it comes to the care of my pets. After several days in the care of AHCC my dog is on the mend and doing great! HOWEVER these bastards at AHCC charged me $27,000,000 … yes that’s twenty seven million dollars for the care of my pet!! Yep that’s right, and then they had the audacity to mention that if my dog would have received care sooner, that maybe the cost would have been less! They also charged me for flea medications that were supposedly needed. That’s total BS, I put that Walmart flea preventative on him five years ago as directed, and I just know he didn’t have any fleas. If he did then AHCC put the fleas on him. I’ve heard that they keep a jar of fleas around just to scam pet owners into buying medications that they clearly don’t need. Lastly, they said my dog was overdue for vaccines and they charged me for that too! How dare they recommend things that we don’t need. My dog was fully vaccinated when he was a puppy over 9 years ago at his last vet appointment. This is why I hate this vet, bunch of a-holes. Stand up for your rights people. I’m gonna call the Mayor, Governor, Walmart, Kmart, Congress, AVMA, & my junior high school counselor. Then AHCC will be sorry, they just messed with the wrong pet owner! more

Glad I drove 303 miles to see Dr. Wood!! 9/27/2013

Dr. Wood is an amazing vet who excels in knowledge, competency, true compassion and keeping your pet's health her priority. We had to travel with a recovering surgery pet and she personally returned my calls en route for guidance and comfort. She treated us like we were important to her. In my many yrs. of being involved in dogs, I have not found such an experienced vet that is still extremely dedicated and not "burned out" . We will now be arranging our travel schedules around appts. with her!! more

We won't go anywhere else! 9/12/2013

I did a lot of research before bringing my pets to AHCC three years ago. My sister has been a licensed vet tech in California for the last 15 yrs, and my cousin’s husband is a large animal vet in Utah. So I know a little something about pet care, and if I have questions I can count on my family to give me advice. However with me living so far away now, I need a local vet that I can count on when my pets get sick or hurt. I tried out several clinics in the area that seemed reasonable including AHCC. For competency, value for the dollar spent, AHCC wins hands down. Their staff is always polite, courteous and willing to do the extra mile even for someone like me who probably asks more questions than most clients. AND I can fact check with my family! I have found a few negative reviews for AHCC on the web and based on what I can see, the vast majority of the negativity has centered around money or what sounds like a barley coherent temper fit that has been grossly over stated. Pet care isn’t free people and sometimes the cost can be a little more than expected. Here’s a hint…. GET PET INSURANCE! If you’re paying cash, and your pet is sick, it costs what it costs. There IS a huge difference in clinics/vets and you DO get what you pay for. I find some of the negative reviews to be offensive because I know they are overstated, embellished, or are many times outright lies. I’m sure there are some parts based in truth but who knows what parts. My pets come to AHCC 3-4 times a year for various things, they always give me a written estimate for my approval before ANY work is done and they always have, this is not a new thing for them. In fact according to my sister (the vet tech) written estimates are pretty much industry standard and have been for a while now. So when I read a bitchy AHCC review about money, I don’t get it. After receiving an estimate that you clearly have to approve before your pet gets treated, what are you complaining about!? If you want to keep cost down get pet insurance! We have Trupanion and love it we also love AHCC, Dr. Wood and her staff are great! more

This is a great place to take your pets. 7/30/2013

This is a great place to take your pets. We needed to get in on a Sunday just before going on vacation last year, they not only got us in but the vet found a tumor on my dog that was apparently missed by my regular vet. I really like the fact that they are now doing nail trims for free because my pets nails are difficult to trim and I hate doing it myself. Their staff is always very friendly and helpful, they're moderately priced, the clinic is beautiful, clean & homelike. We drive from the other side of Kent to go to this vet, it's a bit of a haul but totally worth it. more

Very Happy with the AHCC staff 7/5/2013

My family and I have been taking our pets to AHCC for several years now. We almost left due to a bad experience we had with Dr. Ferguson. We stayed because their staff knows us so well & we have the utmost confidence in Dr. Wood. Everyone that works at AHCC has always been knowledgeable & friendly every time we come in. My only complaint is I wish they were open later during the week. If you're looking for a clean, warm, friendly, competent place to take your pets, AHCC is where we've always taken our pets. more

Very dependable. 6/14/2013

I started going there many years ago, before they moved to their current location or before Dr. Wood took over. I started with a puppy I had at the time and have had several dogs that I've brought to them since. You can trust them, and if you ask them anything they will be fair and straight with you, even if it is something you don't necessarily want to hear. They have always been forthright and upfront, and I personally like that. I have recommended them many times over the years. more

The AHCC staff is always friendly and great with my pets. 6/11/2013

We have been taking our pets to Dr. Wood for a little more than five years now. The AHCC staff is always friendly, and great with my pets. Our little dog Chi-chi just loves Dr. Wood, he behaves better with her than he does at our house. AHCC is a clean, pet friendly facility, they are thorough and fairly priced. We used to go to a different vet, one of those low cost vets, and we didn't have a very good experience. Our pet almost died because apparently they didn't know what they were doing. We were referred to Dr. Wood by our friends and have been happily taking our pets to AHCC ever since. Some of the negative reviews you see on some of these sites are in my opinion, people that are discount shoppers looking for free pet care I guess. With what we've been through, it's been our experience that you totally get what you pay for & we are happy AHCC customers. more

If you need a good vet, call Animal Health Care Center. 5/13/2013

I've been really happy with Animal Health Care Center. I really love Tracy, She's just as sweet as can be and is so good with animals. We've dealt with her for awhile now. more

We are happy clients. 5/8/2013

Animal Health Care Center saved my dog's life about 10 years ago. When a vet saves your dog's life, you stay with them. They are very caring, very thorough, and very knowledgeable. Even when we moved further away, from Kent to West Seattle, we are happy to drive extra to have them be our vet. more

The best animal hospital in South King County 4/20/2013

Dr Tracy Wood takes care of my dog Abbie. Last year we had an episode of Abbie having seizures and Tracy diagnosed her on the first visit. A thyroid issue. Who knew a dog could get that? I truly believe that Abbie would no longer be with us if it wasn't for Tracy. All this and the one of the nicest facilities in the area with a great staff. more

Top notch. 4/19/2013

The care there is top notch. My dogs have some stuff wrong with them, and they are doing great thanks to Dr Woods' philosophy of preventative care. I've been with them since day 1, and they took care of my cat before I had my dogs. more

Don't ever TRUST anyone BUT Dr. Wood with your beloved pet!!!! She's the BEST. !!!!! 10/14/2006

I hate to write this, because then everyone will be going to see Dr. Wood and I won't be able to get in. :) Dr. Tracy Wood at Animal Hospital of Renton is by far a leader in her industry. How many times when you take your pet to the doctor, do you get a call the next day to see how their doing?? Not to many. Everyone that works with Dr. Wood is a professianal. They are very knowledgeable, kind and always very friendly. They call you everyday to see how you and your pet are doing. If things aren't going well, they will figure out an alternative. Our first experience with Dr. Wood was back in June 0f 06, my father's dog of 13 years had passed away and I decided to get him another one. This puppies name was Benji and we took him to see Dr. Wood for his first baby checkup. About three weeks later Benji became sick with a liver shunt and had to be put to sleep. Dr. Wood helped us through this hard time as the pet store that we had bought Benji from was giving us a hard time. She took care of us and even sent us a card and a plant. Now keep in mind she had only known us for three weeks. I had gone to the same Vet. for 11 years and have never gotten anything but a bill and a dog that is now not doing well because it was given to much prediazone. I had no idea that it was bad, but then I wouldn't, I'm not the doctor. Dr. Wood is now helping to correct the problem as long as we can and I know that she will be there for me when the time comes to put my son to sleep. Which just kills me, but she will be there. No doubt in my mind. Again, she reminds you of an old fashion doctor that actully knows your name, your pets name and she truly cares. I would never go any where else. I will soon be moving down to Sumner, but I will still make the drive to Renton to see Dr. Wood. You just don't find people like her anymore in this day and age. She deserves a huge applause and recognition for her outstanding practice. Your pets deserve the best. And that is Dr. Wood and her staff. Pros: The service is one you just don't find anymore Cons: Not One more
