I have sooo enjoyed eating at Alice's, the decor is entertaining; the music is always "on" in the background. It is fun watching the special food come out on the tall trays. Ser...

The decor with the Alice in Wonderland theme was cute and appealing to my granddaughter. However, I had a major issue with the wait time. We arrived from CT at approximately 12:30...

Can't Get Much Sweeter! 7/13/2007

What an adorable tea salon! The staff is so friendly, and the atmosphere so magical, you would think you really were in wonderland! The scones are amazing (try the pumpkin), and the tea sandwiches were equally scrumptious. I had such a wonderful experience my first visit, I rented out space to throw a baby shower for a friend of mine, which turned out to be a truly memorable experience. They are also a very family oriented salon, and the staff is amazing with kids. I highly recommend Alices! -Dante Pros: Wonderful Food, Great Staff! Cons: They are only in NYC! more

Best little teahouse in New York! 7/13/2007

Best scones and cupcakes I've ever had! The sandwiches were divine. They hosted a marvelous teaparty for my wedding shower with excellent service that made me feel very special. Highly recommend. more

Great for brunch or a girls get-together. 6/11/2007

My friends and I went to Alice's Tea Cup for brunch as part of a bachelorette day. We unfortunately were very late for our reservation and they had to give the table away. However the staff was very accomodating, they said theyd have a table in an hour, took my cell # and called me when they had a table ready which was about 50 minutes later. It was totally our fault we were late and they were not rude or annoyed at all. The tea was great, the food, the cocktails, everything was adorable. They had a rather large menu for such a little place. I tried my friends cocktail which was yummy too. Definitely a great place to meet friends and chat. more

THESE PEOPLE ARE GETTING CHEAP! 3/29/2007

Ok, I have been going to this place for a about a year now for tea and scones to go... The tea is really good so I get a different one every time I pass by. In that time I have noticed that the small tea cup has gotten SMALLER and the scones have SHRUNK! Before I could buy my tea and scone ($4.50) with my debit card but now there's a $10 minimum to use your debit/credit card. And I really don't appreciate how you gotta sugar your own tea with those damn packets like its a Starbucks. I never had a sit-down lunch so I don't know how that service is; but let me tell ya most likely will end up being frustrated if you get something to go. NOT GOING TO PASS BY AGAIN! Pros: Good Tea Cons: SMALL EXPENSIVE TEA AND SCONES, S L O W Staff more

Great Bakery 1/13/2007

I frequently like going to this place because their scones are absolutely wonderful, I really enjoy trying out the new ones on each visit. Usually I opt for breakfast and its usually peaceful there during the morning hours. The tea is fantastic as are the rest of the pastries, especially the cakes! The one issue I have is that the waiters though immensely friendly and courteous are sometimes absent minded -- whether serving two people or a party of ten. The service can run a bit slow or sometimes minor things that were ordered never arrive (but it was not charged on the bill). Any person attempting to throw a party there should definitely check the website about fees or speak to the manager who is usually willing to go over every aspect of it. Pros: Scones, atmosphere, tea list. Cons: Forgetful service more

A little hard to get the staff's attention, but one of my new favorite spots. Great for out of towners! more

Over-Priced Stale ""French Toast"" 9/13/2006

My Mom and I were unfamiliar with the area and stumbled upon ""Alice's Tea Cup II"" on the East side. I ordered the stuffed French toast, which I was told was now done ""bread pudding style."" It sounded good, so I ordered it. Came in a teeny, tiny round bowl and was basically chunks of STALE, tasteless, day-old (at least) bread! It was some ridiculous price and wasn't enough to fill a cavity!!! Very disappointing! My Mom ordered a pumpkin scone, which was delicious, but came about 10 minutes before my sad excuse for french toast was served! Also, bus boys/men who apparently didn't speak English plopped our food down in front of us like we were bothering them! Maybe the west side is better. Pros: Scones! Cons: bus boy rude service! more

Must try the PUMPKIN SCONES!! 9/3/2006

Labor day brunch @ Alice's Tea Cup was fantastic! We made reservations for a group of 10, and was seated upstairs near the windows. Since we were such a large party, I was concern with seating, but it was not a problem. The upstairs was spacious enough that we all sat comfortably and did not have to cramp together. Also, I love the whimsical decor, and how cute the hostess and waitress all look. Food! My friend and I shared the Alice's Morning Afternoon Tea! A traditional 3-tiered stand, with a nutella banana crepe, 3 Scones, and potato-chicken hash. The scones are pretty big, I would recommend sharing it. Definitely order a Pumpkin Scone, so delicious! Also we ordered the Indian Chai tea, which tasted like milk tea, it was really good. Service was pretty good, we didn't have to wait and was seated right away. Overall, it was a really good brunch! My out of town visitors loved it!!! Alice's Tea Cup- Chapter II is a Brunch winner!! Pros: Good Brunch! Spacious seating! Make reservations! Scones are big! more

Great tea! 8/11/2006

We ate here Friday night (10-11pm). It was emptying out so we easily got a table for 4. We ordered 3 different pots of tea- one green tea, one rose tea, and one silver needle white tea. They were all very well brewed and tasty. We also ordered 3 different desserts - the banana cake with nutella frosting, the chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, and the chocolate cupcake. All were good, not exceptional, although the banana cake won out for originality! I have to say the great thing about this place is the service. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the staff here is rude. They were extremely nice to us and sent us home with free pastries at the end. Our waiter was also very funny and kept us cracking up each time he stopped by our table. I can see why so many people come here for baby and bridal showers. Pros: Huge selection of teas, great service, cute decor more
