I have eaten here in the past and since the new owner has taken over I would not recommend. They no longer have hummus on the menu, the Greek salad has changed for the worse. I ...

Am I Dreaming?? 12/4/2005

I was recently introduced to Alexander the Great Greek and now I can't get enough of it! What a great place. I feel like I'm in Greece when I'm there.... wonderful food, and wine, music, and dancing. The owner and his beautiful daughter run the restaurant, and the staff is very friendly and hospitable. I have made a different menu selection on each of my visits; each is incredible (NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL). The food is very authentic Greek cuisine, from the owner's mother's kitchen. On the weekends, what could be better than complimentary valet parking? So, at last I have found the perfect restaurant.... an amazing combination of hospitality, ambiance and a tantalizing menu. Pros: THE BEST FOOD, live wkend music/danc, Complimentary valet more

Execellent 11/27/2005

I had a wonderful time there. I took people who had never eaten Greek food or listened to Greek music and they loved it!!!!!!! I highly recommend this place!!!!!!!! Pros: Music, area of town, atmosphere more

Dissapointed, Expected Better 10/1/2005

The live music made it difficult to speak across our table of five. We had to flag down the waiter to order wine, to order appetizers, to order dinner, to order more wine and finally, to get a second glass of water at the end of the meal! We shared two orders of the sampler appetizer which we enjoyed. One diner in our group ordered the stuffed shrimp for dinner and it was so dry she ate one shrimp. The waiter never came by and a busboy picked up her untouched plate without asking anything. I ordered the King Alexander Feast combination and it contained all of the items on the appetizer again plus a rigatoni dish, moussaka and some salty gyro meat. The moussaka was the best thing but there was still too much cinnamon. Overall, mediocre food, low service quality, too much noise, we won't be back. Pros: live entertainment, complimentary valet Cons: inattentive service, mediocre food more

What a find! This place was recommended by a friend and we went to try it. The food was impeccable and the atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommended Pros: Food, Quality, Atmosphere more

Great Food! 11/15/2004

I had a great experience here. We ordered appetizers, forgot the name (pastry with meat) but they came out promptly and were very good. Then I liked how our waiter asked us if we were ready for the main course. Some places bring the meal while you're still eating the app. and then you feel rushed. Waiter also reccommended a tasty greek wine. Music and belly-dancer was entertaining and fun. more

Bread & Butter Report 9/3/2004

Before the meal they served a plate of green olive oil and feta with various olives for garnish. The bread for dipping was a warm, soft white bread sprinkled with sesame seeds. It was very tasty. I would have preferred the delish flat bread (pita?) they brought out later with the meal. But it was very good. The house salad dressing was more of a thousand island style; I had assumed it would be a Greek oil and vinegar dressing. So ask. We got the sampler platter and were very impressed with the food. Everything was great! The live music was wonderful, it got a bit loud at times but was not overpowering and did not play continuously. Highly Recommended!! Pros: live music, great service, knowledgeable waiters more

Better than any other!! 7/12/2004

I have been to ALL of the Greek restaurants in Houston including the new generic Pappa's spinoff. I reccomend this restaurant to everyone especially to customers of Yia Yia Mary's. Let Pappas stick to what they are good at and leave the Greek food to the Greeks. Alexander's is THE BEST spot for Greek food and definately worth the price!! Pros: everything more

my experience 7/10/2004

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaraunt for the first time last Friday night. I was very impressed with the ambience and friendliness from the owner, the waitstaff, the musician, and bellydancer. The musician is incredible. The food, some of the best I've had. I had more fun in this restaraunt then any other place I have been to in years. I highly reccommend it. Pros: wonderful atmosphere, fabulous food, very friendly more
