Alaska Zoo 12/13/2005

I went to this zoo in 2004 on my road trip to Alaska. I thought it would be a lot bigger or with a lot more animals. The trails were all natural which was nice and the whole zoo was pretty natural in its self. I have seen most of all the animals they had in different zoos but there were actually a few like the musk ox i have not seen before. Nice little gift shop/coffee shop and if you just want to shop you don't have to pay for admission. Over all it was a good experience if you don't have anything else to do and just love zoos like I do. more

I love this zoo! The trails are actual trails, so those with strollers or wheelchairs may have to be careful. The zoo looks like it fits with its surroundings, instead of a large concrete maze. They frequently have animals out for "show and tell". more

its ok...kinda small 8/3/2005

Overall for the most part this zoo only has Alaskan animals there are a few that you cant just open your back door and see (ie elephant tigers polar bears musk ox) The trails are kind of rough but its a zoo in AK so theres not much better they can do. They also have a small petting zoo for little kids with goats more
