Bar none this is the best Sushi place in Miami! No one does Sushi like Akashi. Defintely at the top of my list! Pros: Unbelievable food Cons: That I don't get to eat here every night more

Local sushi joint you can never go wrong with. All the rolls are good the quality of the fish is fresh and the service is on point. For the price you are getting quality sushi and service. Location is good, parking is a bit of a mission and it's a bit dark and musty inside but it sets the mood, just be sure to get their early for lunch or dinner, if not you will be waiting. more

Best Japanese Restaurant in Miami 6/13/2008

Best Japanese food and japanese style in Miami. I lived in Tokyo for 3 years and this place is the closest you will ever get to Japan in Miami. Very good sushi, sashimi, sake, and gyozo. It is worthed to come from far way over there.... BUT it is very recommended to MAKE reservations and still be very patient. Pros: Everything Cons: MUST MAKE RESERVATION not good for more than 4 people more

Great small Sushi place! 1/30/2008

This cozy Japanese place had great service, quiet atmosphere and AWESOME food! The proportions we perfect and it was deliscious! I recommend this place to anyone looking to grab some sushi for lunch or dinner...Parking is a bit of a hassle though since its on S. Dixie Hwy. You may have to walk like a block as oppsed to having a parking lot next to it. Pros: proportions, coziness, service Cons: parking more

Larry and his staff are truly the best and the food there is top of the line. We live off I-75 and Miami Gardens and though we have sushi restaurants close by we really love Akashi. It's not only fresh food and great service, but priced right. True, that the parking is not the best, but give a twirl around the block and something should come up. BEST SUSHI IN MIAMI PERIOD! 4/13/2007

Don't worry about having to go to South Beach for the ""high priced"" sushi (Bond Street, Samba, etc.). Akashi is hand's down the BEST Sushi in all of Miami-Dade. I drive almost 45 minutes just to go to this restaurant. It is very tiny on the inside, and can be incredibly crowded. Never in my life have I had sushi like this place. The Alex 1 and 2 roll's are exellent...They are the only place I have found that will put fried white fish in a roll and make it taste amazing (Caliente). Try the Sushi for Two!! 8/17/2006

I love Akashi. It's a small place and doesn't look like a winner on the outside...but the food is amazingly fresh and delicious. You will have to park at the Sunset Place parking deck--about a half block away. I'd be safe and make a reservation...there's not much room in there to stand around! The Sushi for Two is HUUUUUGE and comes out on a wooden boat. Just order it, you won't be disappointed! Pros: Fresh sushi! Affordable Cons: Small/dark, no parking more

Excellent Sushi 8/16/2006

So far I have yet to be dissappointed with any sushi order I make at this restaurant. The quality is excellent and the presentation is very pleasing. The sashimi here is especially good. Unfortunately, this is not the place to go to for some good sake. Pros: Great food, reasonable prices Cons: NO PARKING, no sake selection more

If you're looking for exotic sushi, then this is your place! It's by far the BEST sushi place in Miami...and you get you're $'s worth! I've been coming here for 7 years now and I've tried PLENTY of other places...so far, nothing beats it. more

Kick Ass Sushi! 11/20/2004

We live by Miramar and I75 and we make a trip for this place because it's great! They have so many good rolls, we just love to experiment. My favorite is the ""Alex #2"" & my husband's is the Dragon. The sushi shrimp (ebi) is awesome! I don't know where Larry gets them from but they're almost sweet, which is odd for shrimp. The steak and chicken teriaki is awesome when you're not in the mood for sushi & try the tempura ice cream. We've been taking our son with us since he was born and the staff always helps us out with seating. If they seemed rushed, they are just trying to give everyone the best service possible because it's a small restaurant. It's a great date restaurant. Parking is a pain but worth the effort. There is a metered lot behind them. Catch a movie while you're there! more

Good Food, Good Price 12/3/2003

Although the place is a little small, the food makes up for it. The rolls are always bite sized which makes it possible to close your mouth while chewing, unlike other places. The specialty rolls are all unique and great tasting. Good place to go eat before or after a movie. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food, Friendly Staff Cons: No Parking, Small and Crowded more
