Aged. Steakhouse Bar & Grill

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, PROBABLY THE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD (and I dine out 3-4x/week!) Went here as part of a Living Social deal which turned out to be a ripoff and NOT of any sort of ""deal"" whatsoever. Beware of this restaurant, and if you haven't used your LivingSocial voucher for this place-- get your money back now!! (Once you try to use the voucher, they will NOT help you). \r \r First off, we only had a ""select"" menu, so I can only review my experience for the LivingSocial voucher-- for which they treat you like a leper and don't even provide adequate service let alone decent food. The cheap bottle of wine included was spoiled and there wasn't even an apology, just another bottle that followed. The rest of the evening just got worse, as the portions of food were so small, I had to get extra portions of bread just to not starve between ""courses"" which took forever to serve up. In fact, the portions are DELIBERATELY sized DOWN for the LivingSocial deal, so you don't get a deal at all...actually you get ripped off because you only get about $60 worth of the food and drink if you add it up, and the LivingSocial deal costs $80 for what was supposed to be $175 worth (total JOKE!!)\r \r On top of that, the food AND service is SO BAD, I can see this as one of those restaurants that gets a makeover from the food network or something...it needs it!! Overdressed salad, cold soup, and flavorless steak...I guess the tiny portions ended up being better for me, but still not worth the deal I paid for!! \r \r And the service was so ridiculous, bussers had no idea which table numbers were which, the wait staff seemed like total novices, and the tables are awkwardly placed. The server only stopped by once, never even asking how everything was or opening the wine for us or even delivering the food-- this place needs to hire real industry staff!!\r \r The management has no idea what it is doing and clearly has NOT TRAINED in the hospitality business. The manager admitted he received several complaints about the Living Social deal and said it was Living Social's fault, not the restaurant....and to take it up with Living Social. The manager also stated that he does NOT believe in REVIEWS (!!!) and refused to provide the information of owners or other managers in the group. The managers were also running around trying to solve several complaints like mine because several tables talking with him before ours did, and lots of patrons left FULL plates and FULL bottles of wine!!! Huge red flags everywhere!!\r \r I found out this manager's name is VISHAL and he actually threatened my group as the customers and then refused to provide fullcontact information admitting that he did not want to get into trouble. He is well on his way to creating a bad reputation not only for himself, but for the entire group associated with this restaurant. \r \r This could have been a nice little neighborhood place if it was run right and did not try to rip off customers like me who were willing to pay $80 to give this place a shot. NEVER EVER going again, and my bet is that this place will turn into another failed restaurant given all the complaints I have seen on this place!!! \r more

I really liked Aged. We used the coupon from Restaurant,com and had no problems at all. The steak was perfectly cooked and the place was trendy and had a great atmosphere. Service was exceptionally quick and professional. We thought it would be expensive but the price came out to be very reasonable even though we got a bottle of wine. great restaurant in this neighborhood more

Just came back from the worst restaurant experience I have had in my entire life. I attempted to use a Restaurant dot com gift certificate that I purchased to get $25 off two entrees. My wife and I ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer, and paid our bill with the gift certificate. The manager very rudely told us that he would not accept our gift certificate because we didn't have a bill that was 2x the amount on the gift certificate. However, the only condition listed on the certificate was that you order 2 entrees, which we did. The manager flat out refused to accept it, despite the fact that the terms and conditions on the gift certificate clearly showed that we were correct. When we refused to pay the undiscounted price, the manager called the police! Before they came, we paid the bill, and we will be disputing the charge with the credit card company. I have never had such a horrible experience in a restaurant or dealt with such a rude person. DON'T GO TO AGED, THEY DON'T DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS, and certainly don't bother with a Restaurant dot com gift certificate for Aged, you will be wasting your money. more

Amazing steakhouse, solid service. Wine bottles are expensive, so if you don't get too many of those, you can have an incredible meal for a reasonable price. Nice bar with some really attractive waitress! more

Came here when it was kind of crowded and noisy on a Saturday, but not so much so. We sat in the back, its very romantic in that section. The tables are kind of far apart from each other, so no one was in our way. Service was excellent and very friendly, but not particularly quick because we had to wait a while to get our entrees. Once we got them, it turned into a perfect night because we were both really hungry and put our palletes through extacsy. The NY strip was delicious! Also the brussel sprouts salad and the olive oil prawns were incredible too. We had a really enjoyable meal, and its located not too far from home, so its definitely worth going here for some satisfying steak. This is a new, trendy, excellent addition to the Upper West Side, which was in desperate need of a fine steakhouse that didn't charge an arm and a leg with bad service. This place was excellent all round: I had myself a delicious, tender NY strip, and my friend had the salmon. Even their sides, mashed potatoes and asparagus, were incredible. This place has a very trendly, pleasant ambiance. The service was quick and all the people around us where very friendly. I can't wait to go here again to try the fillet mignon. There's a place to sit by the bar (which has very attractive bartenders), so you can go there by yourself and have a blast. Strongly recommending this place, obviously Pros: Tender steak, great service, nice bar and tasty wine more

Food: The steak was tender and juicy. It was cooked exactly the way I wanted it: medium rare! All the sides they had that came with the steak were also excellent. The salmon was fresh and delicious, melted in my mouth when I tried it. I don't remember the exact appetizer I got, but I tried someone else's oysters and they were incredible, I ended up ordering them on my own. \r \r Drinks: They have a very extensive wine list and deilcious mixed drinks. The mojitos were excellent. \r \r Service: We sat at the bar and the bartender served us. She was very friendly and very good looking! (The entire staff seems very attractive here!). We waited a while for our food, but we were drinking at the bar so it really wasn't a problem. The service was very warm and personal, even though the restauarnt is huge and has two floors. \r \r Decor: Grandiose! High ceilings and very comfortable seating, the booths and tables are far apart from each other to have your own conversation, but you can still feel everyone's energy around you. The people here are very trendy, which really stands out for a restaurant on the UWS. \r \r Aged is definitely a treat, I really enjoyed my time here. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I read reviews saying that this place had “diner food,” but that was not the case at all, and it certainly wasn’t “diner” service. To begin, this place is really nice inside, it has high ceilings, nice paintings, and a very sleek, new look and creative design. The food was superb, especially the meat dishes and steak. We asked the waitress to suggest some things on the menu, and she knew the menu inside and out and gave us some excellent recommendations. She was very professional, courteous, and even though we were the last people in the restaurant before closing, she did not rush us to leave. I came here again recently and the food was again exceptional. Really tender steak, good service.
