Agape Acres Kennel

We have 3 small dogs and have been taking them here for about 7 months and they LOVE it! They have been going every other week for doggie daycare and its like summer camp to them. They get to play outside and swim in the pools that Nancy and Mike have set up. They don't want to leave when I come to get them after work. I trust Nancy and Mike with our dogs and that says a lot because they are our babies. They are always so tired when we get them home. Its so cute. I can always call Nancy to check on them. We have boarded them for a week and they all did so great! They had so much fun and I loved that I didn't have to worry about them. Nancy and Mike are such nice people and are so trustworthy. The prices are super reasonable and they will take care of your dog like it's one of their own. I suggest this place to all my friends with dogs. more

Agape Acres Boarding provides a terrific destination for your dog while you are out of town. Located on several beautiful acres in Southeast Austin, Agape Acres offers outdoor and indoor boarding for dogs of all stripes. Pablo and Greta enjoy running through the pasture with their dog friends several times a day, and they get to share a large kennel at night. Mike and Nancy are great with the dogs and have even become like family to them. I highly recommend Agape Acres for your future dog kennel needs! more

I'm no longer living in Austin, and one of the things I will miss the most is Agape Acres. For 3 and 1/2 years, they took the best care of our two dogs when we were away. The last time I boarded them there, we had to board them (sadly) for four months because our move did not go according to plan. Nancy stayed in touch with me on a regular basis about how Malcolm and Bailey were doing, gave them their flea and heartworm medicines every month and made sure they got lots of attention and love. When we picked them up, both dogs were in great spirits and healthy and VERY happy to see us. I never wanted to have to leave my dogs boarded for such a long period, but since I had to, I can't imagine leaving them in anyone else's care. I read the negative review that was posted, and can't imagine what happened. Yes, the dogs do play together with other dogs, but I know that they do keep a close eye on them. One of my dogs gets along with dogs some of the time, but not all of the time, and I know they separated her from the others when she and another dog did not get along. They also fed my dogs separately because one of them starting getting a little food aggressive, and Nancy kept me informed as we worked together to nip the bad behavior in the bud. We've lived enough places and boarded our dogs in a number of boarding kennels, and my dogs have never been so happy and well cared for as here. They leave exhausted but extremely content, and I would recommend Agape Acres to anyone. Mike and Nancy live on site, love animals and will take great care of your dog too. If you're looking for a fancy, Four Seasons-of-the-dog world kind of place, this may not be the place for you, but if you want your dog to be well cared for and want a place where a dog can be a dog by running, playing and socializing, this is the place for your pet. Pros: affordable, lots of playtime and attention Cons: none that I can think of more

I have been taking my dogs to Agape Acres for years and I will continue to do so as long as I live in the Austin area. My dogs have always stayed in an outdoor kennel and always enjoy playing with the other dogs there. The owners, Nancy and Mike, observe and interact with all dogs staying with them to be sure that they play nicely together. If they don't, uncooperative dogs are removed from the group, thus Nancy and Mike, and I as a patron, can be confident in all dogs' safety even during times when they are not directly supervised. I have found that Nancy and Mike are flexible to my needs. When I drop my dogs off in the morning, my schedule requires me to drop them off 30 minutes before the Agape Acres official drop-off time. Every time I have had to do this, Nancy, Mike or both of them have been ready to receive my dogs with a pleasant smile at the designated time. Nancy and Mike have always been friendly and forthcoming with any information that I request about their business and about my dogs' stay with them. My dogs like them and always enjoy their time at Agape Acres! Pros: Dogs get to run, Dogs get individual attention, Low cost Cons: None. more

My two labs love this place. They are high energy dogs and they get to run their hearts out. I don't have to worry about my dogs being penned up. They come home tired from all of the play and happy. The owners are great. You can tell they love their job and the dogs really seem to love them. I will always use Agape Acres.
