A great place to hangout in the warmer weather with it's outdoor cobblestone dining area. It is in a happening part of Manhattan next door to Ulysse's Pub! The Old Fashioned S...

What I don't understand 12/12/2006

is how willing people are to accept miserable service. The pizza is good, the rest of the food is just average. I haven't been treated this rudely anywhere else downtown during the lunch rush. The waitress literally threw the check and it landed on the floor. When we refused to climb under the table and get it for her she printed another one. They don't have bread to serve with their pasta dishes, so be sure to bring your own loaf. I work across the street and I will NEVER go there again. We used to order pies for meetings, but not anymore. We'll give our money to people who treat their customers like human beings. Their pizza is not worth putting up with the attitude of the entire staff. Pros: Pizza Cons: Everything else more

Some people just dont understand...... 11/25/2006

I am a frequent customer and I am amazed how some people just cant understand how busy this place\r is day-to-day and how they impressively are able to satisfy customers (even when so packed).. I read the previously 2 reviews, and found it interesting how they said they were seated immediately and order taken....then from the time they were finished felt rushed and rudely treated. \r I have had the exact same situation happen to me (check being dropped and after a couple minutes manager came over and asked for the table)..I dont know the manager, but by looking at the waiting line i can understand why... If i was on that line and I would want the same courtesy to know they (host and manager) are working diligently to get us seated.... \r And to talk about the pizza being poor< come on, before adriennes had opened, I had no choice to eat the pizza in the area and you know as well as i do that ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ADRIENNES....\r I will go back, and back and back... Pros: pizza, food, wine list, Cons: very busy more

Greasy pizza, but worse yet, RUDE staff 11/20/2006

Today my colleagues and I went for lunch at Adrienne's. We were treated rudely by all levels there.\r \r We received the bill in the middle of our meal, even though the waitress never bothered to ask if we needed anything else. After she brought the bill, a number of their staff tried taking the folder with the bill to hurry us along. We could not even relax during our meal. \r \r Then a rude and abrasive manager came over and told us to hurry up because he had people waiting in line to eat. (I guess we did not count!)\r \r If I had known that Adrienne's was supposed to be ""fast"" food--I would have gone to the corner ""pizza by the slice"" place and would have paid a more reasonable price and would have been treated more politely. more

Rude, rude, rude 11/20/2006

If you're looking to leave your office for a relaxing lunch break, look elsewhere! While we were quickly seated and served promptly, the waitress was rude and inattentive. The check came before we even had a chance to ask for a refill on our empty glasses. The pizza was ok, but excessively greasy, and two members of the restaurant staff tried to grab our check before we had even had a chance to put money in it. The manager rudely asked us to leave because he ""had more people to feed."" He said he didn't care if we left a tip or not because we ""aren't the only people taking a lunch break.""\r \r I will never go back and don't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to get away from the office for a break. Pros: None. Cons: Poor service, rude staff. more

Once was more than enough 11/16/2006

Absolutely terrible service. Hostess was rude, waitress was rude, manager was rude-pizza was cold and undercooked when it came. If this is an atmosphere that they are trying to cultivate they should reconsider. Listen the pizza is okay(just) but this is NY city-its not that good. They got a lot of positive buzz because they were a new ""thing"" in the restaurant starved Financial District. That is not enough. Would never ever return. Will tell everyone I know not to waste their time and money. Cons: Everything more

Awesome pizza in a crowded space 10/29/2006

This is one of the restaurants that makes Stone St. a destination. The pizza is great, with thin-crusted rectangular slices and original recipes. The price is a bit on the high side, but really, you're in New York (and probably work on Wall St. if you're going here). Everything is expensive. The one pitfall is that this place is almost always crowded, especially if you're trying to get outdoor seating in the summer. On days like that or during the happy hours, you're better off getting delivery. Pros: Great pizza Cons: Hard to get seating more

A great lunch deal! 10/25/2006

The service is polite, but fast. Certainly quick enough as to allow you to enjoy the TERRIFIC pizza before heading back to work.\r \r A pie with toppings will feed 3 people just fine and at a low price. Expect to get away with food and drink for around ten bucks.\r \r Pretty good deal for a top notch lunch Pros: Excellent setting, especially in the summer / great food / fast / good price Cons: Loud, a little bit crowded more

Pizza with elegance 10/25/2006

If you are looking for a quick, cheap slice you are at the wrong place. If you want some of the best gourmet pizza, imported italian wine, and a chill, loungey atmosphere then come here. This has to be the nicest pizza place in the city, and their food is definitely a step above the rest. I would definitely recommend this place. Pros: Great pizza & atmosphere Cons: No slices more

Finally! Good pizza downtown! 10/24/2006

At least, the ""old fashioned"" square pie is great. I haven't tried the other varieties yet, because this one is too good. Excellent pepperoni, the thick kind. Delicious chewy-crispy crust. The pasta entrees I have tried are average, so I keep going back to that pizza. This is a slick, modern little spot that gets loud on Friday nights. In warm weather, you can eat outside on at tables set up on the cobblestones of charming, historic Stone Street. Excellent for Financial District takeout. My only complaint - no delivery to Battery Park City! Pros: outdoor seating Cons: no delivery to battery park city more

Great Pizza, Excellent Service 9/3/2006

Some people complain about service, but in all honesty, that depends on your waiter/waitress... always.\r \r Our waiter was attentive, offered to set up an umbrella on our table when he noticed the sun was getting overwhelming, and consistently checked on our drink levels to make sure we never needed to ask for a refill. \r \r \r As for the pizza, it was excellent. Not the usual NYC style brick oven, the pizza was big enough to satisfy, had an airy, crispy crust, and is served as a rectangular pie. The toppings were great, and i left stuffed and satisfied. \r \r Sitting outside with a cold beer, great pizza, and on a pedestrian street gives this place an atmosphere that can't be contended with most NYC spots.\r \r Definitely a good sunday spot, and great for families. Pros: Great pizza, Great atmosphere Cons: Pricey, Mixed Service reviews hint that some waiters are poor more

Pbrick oven pizza (and the b is silent) 8/21/2006

If you are looking for good pizza, this is the place. If you are looking for any kind of customer service - forget it. Rude manager and staff, long waits for orders, and no slices (on and off, used to have them, now they don't). I guess when you do a lot of business - as these guys do since it's always packed - you can afford to skimp on small things like customer service.\r \r If the pizza wasn't so good I would give it a 0 rating. Pros: great pizza Cons: unbelievably bad service, price is not cheap for pizza more

Best Nutellatini 8/3/2006

the pizza is great but my favorite thing to have here is the Nutellatini - Mike makes them the best! the first time i tasted it, i was hooked. i go at least once a week to have a drink. more

Excellent pizza, lousy service, extremely rude manager 7/12/2006

What a fiasco! We went there for lunch one day and waited 45 minutes for a pizza. At that point, I went to the manager to complain and he basically said that's the way it is during lunch. Customers seated after us got their food and were almost finished. Worst part is the manager was totally unsympathetic and said ""If you don't want to wait then leave"". We left. Too bad, the pizza is some of the best I've had but the service is worse than poor. Waiters and waitresses are indifferent and somewhat rude also. They are probably taught by the manager. Anyway, avoid this place if you're looking for decent service along with your meal. Pros: Great pizza Cons: Poor service and rude manager more

Undeserved hype!! 6/26/2006

So, I was pretty excited to try the pizza from Adrienne's after hearing some hype about it (relation to Nick's, etc. etc.). I have to say, after just finishing my last piece? I wasnt impressed AT ALL. I went the delivery route since I live literally a two minute walk away and I thought surely that would be just as good as eating there. Nope. It took over an hour to deliver it, the pizza was cold, the crust was inedible (hard as a rock and not in that good crispy crust way), the slices were all sorts of variety of sizes and the taste? wholly mediocre. It seems they wanna be like Lombardi's based on their style of pie (the classic personal pizza is what I got) but they are FAR from it. I honestly think I've had frozen pizzas that were better and that's really saying something right? I essentially ate it because I had paid for it and because I was starving. \r \r Disappointing, less than enjoyable. Maybe if you go it will be different, but I think I'll stick with all the other pizza joints in the city that are actually good and worth the price. \r \r Happy eating. Pros: um, that they deliver...eventually? Cons: just wasnt good pizza...important for a pizza bar... more

Ab Fab 12/15/2005

If you haven't been to Adrienne's, I highly recommend the downtown getaway...... The location is fantastic; it's like having dinner at an amazing little Italian Bistro that only the locals know about. And that feeling follows you through the door, where you are welcomed by the friendly staff. Say hello to the manager, Jason..... he makes you feel right at home. Return a few weeks later, and he'll welcome you like an old friend. We were introduced to the best Pomegranate Belini's in the city - courtesy of Mike the bartender. Not a Belini fan? Have him concoct something that makes your mouth water. Richard is a new addition Adrienne's.... we already love him. more

Great pizza-cool people 10/29/2005

My friend and I were on Friday night walking by Pearl street and we saw this pizza bar. We stopped for a quick check and we end up having a best time and pizza ever. ""Barese"" pizza with onions, susage and fenel was abosulutly great. ""Nutela Eclair"" was one of the unique dessert that I had for a long time. Service great and quick - very friendly - cool people. Music was calm and smooth. Definately going back sometime. Pros: Affordable, Good food, Good service Cons: Clean, Inexpensive more

Pizza should still be pizza 10/24/2005

I went with a coworker at lunch, and ordering a slice is a nerve wracking experience. You can only order what is shown and the pizza chefs are downright surly. I understand that a city with foie gras in burgers is used to sanctified pretentious food, but I still enjoy a normal slice once in a while. The food is good, but the pretentia is smothering. Pros: Good pizza, great cheeses Cons: Snobby/rude service, confusing layout, appathetic owner more

Fantastic!! 10/13/2005

My cousin and I went to grab a drink on Stone Street and came across Adrienne's Pizza Bar. The ambience gave us a nice cozy warm feeling. We had a couple of glasses of wine, shared the margarita pizza (excellent!), and the bruchette. We loved it. The service was friendly and attentive. Great new downtown spot! Definitely going back. more

Adrienne's pizza on romantic Stone Street 8/19/2005

Highest recommendation! Eat at a hot spot during the week or relax and get away from it all on the weekend. Adrienne's Pizza Bar is our new favorite restaurant - best food/value. Hard to believe you can crave salad until you've tried the Arugula salad with sun-dried peppers/tomatos. Two of you? Order an Arugula salad, two pizzas and two glasses of wine ($55) - nice date. You'll want to come back within the week. If they delivered to Battery Park City, it would be tough not to order once or twice a week. Part of our Saturday routine, if we miss lunch, we go for dinner. Pros: Arugula Salad, Antipasto misto, Toscana Pizza Cons: None, Expand delivery more
