A great place to hangout in the warmer weather with it's outdoor cobblestone dining area. It is in a happening part of Manhattan next door to Ulysse's Pub! The Old Fashioned S...

My wife and I stayed Downtown for the night and were informed that Adrienne's Pizza Bar was the place to go for great Italian. We walked in and were very excited to try the Pizza....

NY worst pizza 8/29/2007

This was by far the worst pizza I've ever tasted. I honestly wouldn't feed this slop to my dog. service is the worst to. more

Different Pizza, terrible customer service 8/24/2007

The only experience I've had with Adrienne's is on the ordering side, as I work at a downtown business. They are not very nice on the phone, but then this is New York, and cannot give you a time when your pizza will arrive. \r I suggest calling at least 3 hours before you want your pizza.\r \r And though it isn't my personal favorite pizza in the world, I know a lot of people who think it's a treat. Pros: Lots of folks really love their food Cons: Typical New York attitude and way too expensive for bread and cheese more

NY's best, true Italian pizza 7/10/2007

If you have never been and can't understand the extremes in how this place is rated:\r \r 1) if you think authentic Italian ""family style"" pizza made with exceptionally fresh ingredients is delicious, you are going to be glad you came here. Staff is extremely courteous and professional, unless you are a total a""hole (see below) and should try Pizza Hut instead anyway. \r \r 2) if you are fresh off the U-haul from Ohio or Michigan, probably working at a local Wall St firm doing a job you think might get you a decent job there one day in the future, then try Ulysees instead cos then you will receive the fast food you want, freshly microwaved from its Made In China vacuum pack, and you can still get to hang out on Stone St and feel important. Plus, don't confuse your obnoxious behavior for rudeness from the staff. \r \r more

Have fun!!! 7/6/2007

\r My boyfriend and I have been regulars at Adrienne?s pizza bar for the past year and we never had any kind of problems with their pizza or the rest of their dishes. We love the Portobello Salad and the Romana pizza is out of this world, our favorite cocktail is the Nutella Tini. We admit that the service is not always consistent, however every time either Irene or Mimosa served us our dining experience was delightful. They are very sweet and charming. We also appreciated the knowledge in wines of their ex-bartender Mike from Australia. \r We definitely recommend this place to anyone.\r \r Pros: Good food more

Avoid this place 7/2/2007

Even though the pizza and the salads that I have tasted were pretty good, Adrienne's will defenitely not get my business because of their crappy service. They are rude and don't care about the costumer, they could care less if your not satisfied, and thats not how a business should run. I dont recommend coming here to anyone whos considering it! more

European-style al fresco ambiente 6/27/2007

I went here as part of a group lunch, dreading every moment because #1 - the lunch was going to be in the financial district and #2 - it was going to be pizza. To my delight, I found the outdoor cafe ambience to be probably the best in the city. NY, unlike Europe, does not have many narrow cobblestone streets left, much less streets that are blocked to traffic. It makes for the ideal outdoor eating situation, far better than the table set on a sidewalk that is wafted with car fumes. I could have been in Cinque Terre. The tableware is elegant, if you care about such visual and tactile pleasures. An earlier poster mentioned they didn't think it possible to be addicted to an arugula salad. They are right. This light salad leaves an astonishing impression. The pizza is on par with Patsy's, if not better. As for the service complaints, I understand both sides. The place is popular and they want to keep people moving yet the atmosphere is so viscerally pleasant you really want to linger. Pros: Superior outdoor cafe ambience for NY Cons: Some say service is sketchy, but since when has NY been known for great service? more

their pizza is ok. they have salads, sandwiches and drinks as well. moderate price. probably the cheapest place on stone st. more

Good Pizza but Terrible Service and Worse, They Scam You 6/3/2007

There is no denying the pizza is above par. That said, the staff is horrible. The first time we ordered from this place, they took an hour to deliver to us (we are less than a mile away) and the delivery man looked at his tip of 4.00 and said, ""Yeah, that's OK). It's a 10 minute walk to our house, if that.\r \r The next time we ordered was last night. We asked for a half and half, they said no. We asked for a large white, they said no. We finally ordered their Bufalina pizza (10 inches at 15.00). They deliver us a pizza (over an hour later) with a bill of 32.00 and tried to tell us that was the price because the Bufalina Mozzerella was ""extra"" and because it was slightly bigger than tjheir average pie. When we told him this was ridiculous, he told us he could not ""cancel"" our credit card and we had to take it. We didn't but what a hassle.\r \r There are enough quality establishments in this city to not have to deal with rude managers and delivery men. Don't bother. Pros: The pizza Cons: Staff. prices, delivery men more

Never again! 5/30/2007

The pizza and salads are good. The waitstaff is horrible; Cold, and rude. They must hate serving the Wall Street traders who work nearby but why take it out on everyone else? I also ordered take-out from them twice and the first time was fine but they botched it up completely the second time and the manager wasn't cool about it. Pros: pizza, salads Cons: service, indoor ambience is as cold as the waitstaff, messed-up deliveries more

Bad service for lunch AND dinner 5/11/2007

Don't get me wrong: the pizza at Adrienne's is pretty good and the ambiance within the place is nice too, but the service in there is nothing short of despicable. While I understand having to stand in line for a good restaurant, I do not understand being rushed from your table after eating. I have dined in Adrienne's during the lunch and dinner hour multiple times and the same thing happens all the time - the waiter/waitress comes over barking at my party to pay the check and leave because other customers are waiting. Now I, like every other New Yorker, has had to wait in line for seating in a good restaurant. However, I have never had to endure being asked to leave when there is still wine in my glass, after I stood line line for 20 minutes to get my table. The food is good, but its not good enough to put up with distasteful service. I won't be a customer there going forward nor would I ever take clients or do a company function there. more

Great Food And Staff, Amazingly Enough... 5/8/2007

I'm not sure where the complaints have come from regarding the staff, but they're always nice and seem genuinly pleased to see us whenever we show up. The manager in particular is probably the friendliest restauranteur I have yet encountered in Manhattan - he always comes over to offer a handshake and a smile. The food is awesome, but the crowds are sometimes offputting. All in all, I'll surely keep going back. Pros: Friendly staff, knowledgeable bar staff, great food Cons: crowded more

great `fancy' pizza 5/6/2007

This place has great pizza, but the environment leaves a little to be desired. VERY tight quarters, and clearly an after work hang out for the financial types. Since I live in the area, I wish it was a little less after-worky, but the pizza is very tasty!! Pros: pizza Cons: fellow diners more

Great Pizza, Excellent Service, LOVE the manager 5/1/2007

My boyfriend and I have been faithful customers for the past two years, ever since we moved to the neighborhood. The pizza is consistently great, the service is warm and friendly, and Jason the manager couldn't be a greater guy--he always gives us a personal ""hello,"" stops to talk to us, and seems genuinely happy to see us. I cannot understand the negative reviews about management--to me, it is one of the things that makes this restaurant stand out. Pros: delicious pizza, excellent service, great management Cons: none! more

Great fine pizza! 4/24/2007

I went here with some pals for dinner, and we allreally enjoyed it. We decided to go to Ulysses afterward, and since it's right next door, it was quite convenient. \r We three split a pepporoni pizza and a four cheese, both of which were really delicious! The pizza is more gourmet, less Domino's, and we split a bottle of wine as well. \r It's always been crowded when I've tried to go, so get there early or you will probably wait. Pros: Delicious pizza, nice atmosphere Cons: long wait more

Great pan pizza! 4/1/2007

I went here for the first time the other night. I had heard great things from people who hang out around there for happy hour or who lived in that area. The pizza is truly great pan pizza. I still prefer a slice of NY style for the quick bite, but Adriannes toppings, cheese, and sauces are put together nicely. Pros: pizza, atmosphere Cons: wait since it's a small place more

NOT for true diners. 2/24/2007

I took a friend to Adrienne's for his birthday. The food was great and service was great UP until the end. Only a few minutes after we paid the bill, the ""Manager"" came up and asked us to leave, repeatedly saying ""sorry, i waited ten minutes, i've got such a line"". I was horrified!!! I have never, ever experienced anything like it. No decent restaurant would EVER dream of asking a paying customer to leave in order to take in more business. These people are making a HUGE mistake. The best restaurants understand that the trick to being a successful restaurant and increasing the ability to up the fee for dining is QUALITY not quantity. I'm calling the manager today and will probably write a letter. Pros: atmosphere, decent prices Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE AND TREATMENT more

Good food, BAD management 2/2/2007

Went there last night with a small group. The food was very good, but the manager hustled us out the door because he had another party who was ""eyeing our table"" (the manager's words). We ordered dessert and we'd been eating our ice cream ""for 15 minutes"" We were shocked at being treated so rudely and refused to pay the bill. On the way out, our waiter muttered ""thanks for the tip, guys."" Don't thank us, thank your manager. Overall: RUDEST manager I've ever encountered in 10 years of dining at NYC restaurants. NOT recommended under any circumstances. Pros: Food Cons: Waitstaff, Management more

Good Pizza for a Small Town 1/8/2007

It's really incredible that this is any New Yorker's idea of great pizza. \r Don't get me wrong - Adrienne's uses good ingredients, and the pizza is tasty (if greasy), but this is nothing you couldn't find at nicer pizza joints around the country. \r And in a town with classic joints like DiFara, Patsy Grimaldi's and Lombardi's (not to mention passable and occasionally fantastic slices on every other corner), there's just no reason to settle. \r On the other hand, although the service is dicey, for takeout in the Wall St. area, it's a solid upscale choice that will probably impress the financial analysts on your floor. \r Pros: Decent fancy pizza, convenient take out for Wall St. Cons: greasy, poor service more

I crave this pizza weekly 12/22/2006

Adrienne's has absolutely amazing pizza (the square pies - I've never had the personal, round ones). Yes, at lunch time it can be extremely crowded and the waiters and waitresses are expected to move people along as quickly as possible. I have been reading some of the other reviews and people are so angry over the service there at lunch time, but I can't quite feel sympathetic towards them as it really should not be a surprise. Anyone who has ever walked in or by there at that time should understand why diners are expected to eat and leave - this is not a time for leisurely dining. For that, go at night. \r \r I've never had any of their food other than the pizza, so I cannot comment on that, but I will say that for the year and a half that I have been going there, I have only had 1 bad experience (as in, my order hadn't been placed and I had to wait for more than an hour) but many, many delicious pizzas. I love this place. Pros: Best pizza I've ever had. Cons: Crowds and waiting if that's a big deal to you. more

My favorite pizza (but don't bother going at lunchtime) 12/13/2006

I love this place but I would never dine here during lunchtime. It's just too small and too crowded. It's great at night though especially in good weather when you can dine outside on Stone Street. The quattro formaggio pizza is the best. I wouldn't recommend the regular cheese ravioli but the baked dishes are good. Pros: Best quattro formaggio Cons: Avoid lunchtime more
