The Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Services located at Iowa Lutheran Hospital serve adolescents (ages 12-18) and their families who have been affected by substance abuse and mental health issues. Treatment focuses primarily on the substance abuse issues while taking into account the relationship substance abuse may have with other emotional or mental health needs in an adolescent's life. We provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where youth can face their drug use and learn to make healthy decisions. This is a place where youth and families can rebuild lives impacted by the loss, hurt, fear, helplessness and uncertainty of drug abuse. Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Services stress an interdisciplinary team approach to substance abuse and mental health treatment. Team members include: * Physicians * Nurses * Certified chemical dependency counselors * Behavioral health partners * Case managers * Family therapists * Clergy * Recreation therapists
