The Old-Time Famas Drive-In: 9/23/2012

I remember growing-up as a little girl, going there with my familey, bring our fresh popcorn,& a cold-Icechest full of cold drinks,& brought our lawn chairs & warm blankets, just in-cast we needed them. And remembered,my mom made me go in my pajammas with feet, & was'nt embaressed at all, besides, there where other kids, in their pajammas also, & we would get there earley,to get a great parking spot & go play down-in front of the huge-screan,there was a little park, with swings,see/saw-plank to ride on,a slide,a merry-go-round,sand-pit,which kept us busy until the show started,& gave our parents a break for a while,& we never worried about,{stranger-danger},it was a different time in those days,we did'nt have to lock our doors,or worry about putting things up,so they won't get stolen, now, you worry about EVERYTHING! Oh,& we had a convertable, which was so cool & convinant! And,cold ride on the way home! Those were the days & gone & won't be back either,I'm glad I had those times & still can remember them well,It was alot different back then, alot safer,& simpler, easy going, take the time to grow-up,& enjoy everything you can! Not like now! Totally,Fast pace, worried all the time,& everyone seems to be out for them self's,just angery all the time, look how much crime, has went up through the years! more

Loved it. My father was the projectionist in the late 60s, I worked the concession for a while, and my boyfriend Eddie worked there. Loved the seats they had outside, all the kids from my junior high, I think it might have been Bell??, would walk in and set on the patio. My dad was the first projectionish hired there. Debbie more

Best Around Admiral Twin 7/8/2006

The Admiral Twin is the best place to go see a movie. Growing up my family often went there on the weekends. I have taken my own family there a couple of times and they seem to enjoy it better than the usual movie theaters. For one, if you have a crying baby nobody is shooshing you. Secondly, you can just sit in the back of your truck with pillows and refreshments and it's great. Watching a movie in the summer night with a slight wind blowing. Only bad thing is the occasional airplanes. I can remember as a child thinking a plane would fly into the side of the Twin. more

An Outdoor Theater that Still Exists... and It's Quite Famous! 4/9/2006

The Admiral Twin Drive In Movie Theater has been around for as long as I can remember. Many of you, even out of the area, have probably seen this drive in theater, as it is where they filmed scenes in the famous movie, The Outsiders". Growing up in Oklahoma, it was a regular event for the family to load up on certain nights to go see the latest movies. It is a wonderful experience, for the entire family, and can save big bucks, as you can take your own ice chest! I have many happy memories of the Admiral Twin Drive In, and although many others have, sadly, closed their doors, they keep going strong! I hope this tradition continues, and one day my grandchildren will be seeing movies there! more

Excellent atmosphere and great deal 7/18/2005

What I really love about this drive in movie theatre was nostalgic atmosphere. This place gives the nice feeling of watching movies. The fact that it is outside and you can bring your own food and drinks, makes the $6 enjoyable. It is really worth the money because you can watch two movies. That is about 4 hours! more
