Great Food and Cocktails 5/11/2009

Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and home fries. The steak is off the chart , this dish could stand up to most chiefs and establishments. Great tunes on the jukebox of famous BE artists. Pros: Food Atmosphere $$ Cons: none more

Did I ask for my food to go? 3/12/2009

I wasn't looking for linen tablecloths, fine china and crystal but I think if you order a po boy it should come dressed and not served on top of a wet tomato so the sandwich is soggy with two sealed plastic containers of sauces(takeout style.) The sweet potato fries were not fries but roasted wedges of sweet potato. The oysters and shrimp were cooked well but everything else was wrong. Disappointed Pros: friendly service Cons: takeout delivered to your table more

Best weekend brunch 3/11/2008

I always go here, but only for their weekend brunches. It's $10.95 and you get a whole lotta food. Pros: Food, relaxed atmosphere Cons: For authentic cajun food, you might want to go somewhere else more

Worst Delivery Ever... 1/19/2008

Called them at 5:20 for a delivery. At 6:30 called again and was told it was ""on the way"". 7:30 now and the food still hasn't arrived. Unacceptable for Manhattan. more

this place it terrible, avoid it! 10/26/2007

i just had dinner here tonight. The food was terrible. the service terrible. The meatloaf was served cold. Dennys is better than this place. By far. So, i went to take a look at the past 15 reviews giving this place 5 stars, and sure enough... i checked the number of reviews that these people had on here. Only one. One review. That looks suspicious to me. Looks like the owner is desperate. The food and service were terrible, and honestly, i feel sick from eating the food. Pros: location, food type Cons: every single thing else more

ACME?s Finger Lickin? Good! 6/6/2007

This place is my absolute favorite restaurant in NYC! From the mouthwatering Maryland crab cakes to the scrumptious catfish fingers, I just can?t get enough! My absolute favorite is ACME?s award winning famous mashed potatoes with the white yummy gravy?DELICIOUS! Pros: Super fun atmosphere! more

Just like mother used to make 1/28/2007

As a southerner, it's always hard for me to find good comfort food in the city. Acme hits the nail on the head. Start off with some jambalaya before moving on to mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatos. The po' boys are authentic and delicious as well. Sip it all down with Abita. Pros: Mac and Cheese, Po' Boys more

Going back for those sweet tater fries! 1/26/2007

Overall I thought the food we ordered (po' boys, jamalaya, etc) was great, but those sweet potato fries--lightly dusted with cinammon--are going to be my downfall! Pros: Great service--very attentive staff more

Great Cajun food 1/25/2007

The food was great. Authentic Cajun style. The sweet potato mash was delicious. The place is large so we didn't have to wait for a table on a Friday night. Pros: Great Cajun food, Sweet Potato Mash is delicious more

Delishly Delicious 1/10/2007

Love, love, love ACME. If you like your food spicy, you'll love ACME too. The cornbread placed at every table before each order is hot and soft...just like granny used to make. The cajun corn is hot enough to start a 3 alarm fire in your mouth. Topped with butter, shredded cheese and cayenne pepper. The Jambalya states very similar to those found on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. more

BEST GREATEST FOOD! WILL FILL YOU UP! great service!!! 12/28/2006

NICE WAITRESSES! wow wow weewaa I enjoyed Acme burger deluxe it was very nice, Acme beer gets the job done! and fried catfish fingers, great choice of drinks, crab cakes! corn bread! Pros: very nice food Cons: waitresses are hard to mack it to more

Good Brunching 11/13/2006

I hadn't been to Acme in more than 10 years. But after this weekends brunch I'm ready to become a regular. Cons: Great food at a great value more

Now I can relax! 11/8/2006

Excellent cajun food. Close to many theaters around there (I saw some guy who was in a play that was also in the movie ""Hollywoodland"" there the other night). OnSundays all day you can get any of the appetizers on the menu HALF PRICE sitting up at the bar where they have nice new stools; totally layed back. Pros: Relaxed but with great service, great food Cons: Wiaters don't wear ties? more

Best Ribs, Po boys, great drinks and vibe, meatloaf and mashed that can't be beat 10/18/2006

Most generous and delicious food, from ribs to crab cakes and salads with blackened chix, the drinks; hurricanes, martinis and the Brian's watermelon drink can't be beat. Pros: great food and drinks more

A top joint in the city 10/17/2006

I seriously love this place. Every time I am in the city.... I go out of my way to eat there. Burgers with the best taste, the bun is good, the cheeze it great, its all so good I dont know how they do it. I also like the fried shrimp... they are fried in a flakey crisp batter that is go good and the shrimp taste so fresh... amazing. I always get tons of sides like mac and cheeze, mashed potatoes, and tons of gravy. There is alot on the menu but its all so good that I cant go wrong with my normal picks. Example, they have meatloaf, fried chicken, po boy sandwitches, bbq chickens, its all there. The last thing I can say is that the food tastes better than home made and better than 99% of places to eat in the whole country. Pros: Best food bottom line Cons: I wish there was one closer to my house in Florida more

Cat fish po-boys cat fish po-boys cat fish po-boys with hot sauce on the side 10/16/2006

the best! Try the cat fish po-boys, it wont let you down. get em either fried or blackened with great sides. Also a good place to bring a date, comfortable southern setting that will bring out the country in all of us. Cant leave out the hottest hot sauce and the coldest beer... more

Got Flavor? 10/16/2006

Nestled between Lafayette Street and Broadway, Acme is a great place to enjoy some mouthwatering dishes and happening atmosphere. The decor is rustic and full of flare. Acme's flare is matched by its down to earth and fun to talk to staff. Great coversation. Pros: Great food and service more
