Our piano teacher was fabulous although she had to repeatedly change our lesson date. When I tried to withdrawn my daughter due to the continuous lesson changes and I got a phone call at 11 p.m. at night from the owner yelling at me and calling me a liar and told I was going to be taken to collections. I emailed and called several times and noone would get back to me. Even with the low lesson payments and great teachers I will warn anyone looking for music lessons to avoid this company and run as fast as you can! I would give negative stars if I could but I had website required something. more

My daughter took guitar lessons for about 4 months. When my 8 month contract obligation was fulfilled, I was continually charged for $130 against my debit card despite giving the required written request to cancel lessons. Whenever I attempted to contact the manager/owner to fix the mistake, I was ignored and had to keep calling repeatedly. Clearly, this particular establishment does not know how to run a business properly. I am a private small business owner with no formal training in customer service but I do know that one should go out of their way to please customers, especially those who might not be completely satisfied with their purchase/service. There are plenty of other choices of good music schools in our area, this is not one of them. more

Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews nor check the BBB before trying them out. My daughter had 5 teachers in 4 months. We could never be guaranteed that an instructor would even be present when we showed up. I am on my second charge dispute with this business. Unfortunately, I am having the exact same problems many others have. If I could give zero stars, I would. more

My whole family has taken violin, piano,and clarinet lessons at the Florida Conservatory for over 12 years..... we've never had any issues or problems there and I would highly recommend them for anyone. Desiree more

My 3 boys are having their winter recital coming up and are so excited....Fcm does a great job and it will be at the Friday Musicale...also we will be sure to go see the rock school perform Oct 22 2011 at 4:30 at the River Side Arts Market. Would recommend FCM anytime! Gina more

The owner of this music studio is horrible. Does not respond to emails and clearly is only in the business of making money. I cancelled my lessons via email, as my contract required, but continued to be billed. Multiple emails and phone calls went unanswered. Do not send the request to their email form on the website, as you have no way of proving when you sent it, only their word. I was charged 2 months worth of lessons that my kids didn't take. Many times the guitar teacher didn't show up and in fact, my kids had three different teachers because they kept losing them. Stay away!! more

The lessons were great. But Mgmt is terrible. Do not trust them with a Credit Card. They kept charging the wrong amount. So I stopped the card. Went on a month-long vacation, and it threw them off their schedule. Could not get the new quoted rate done right ( manager gave a quote, and Sean kept charging something else ) . Rather than them sorting it out, I had to call Sean a few times myself .. and he is not always available. Finally decided to pay monthly. When I told them that we will not be going for a while ( due to personal reasons ), Linda said 'that is fine.. just call us when you decide to come back'. But I later found out that Sean had used a check I had given them to 'illigally' setup an Auto Debit from my checking account, without my persmission, and for MORE than the quoted rate!!. I understand that is illigal, and I may be taking legal action .. will see if gets there.\r Suffice it to say that I am NOT going back, and have cenceled my 'classes' effective last month !!\r Although the instruction was very good , be very careful if you decide to do business with them. In hindsight, I should have stopped at the first sign of problems. more

My two children have been going to the Conservatory for 5 years, they are both taking piano with Abbas Abboud, he is a concert level pianist and has graduated from the Paris Conservatory. My boys love him and he is truly an amazing pianist. Lori more

An F Rating & 21 Complaints in the Better Business Bureau Database, Unethical management, and mediocre instruction. We have had a terrible experience with the Florida Conservatory of Music. We repeatedly arrived for our lessons, after a 25 minute ride, to find that our instructor was absent. Make-up lessons were offered without much of an apology. Twice, we arrived for the make-up lessons only to find that the instructor once again wasn’t present. I hand delivered a written notice to the manager alerting him to the fact that we would be discontinuing lessons after one month because of the repeated absences by the instructors. He personally took the letter from my hand and said nothing. However, 30 days later another automatic withdrawal was again taken from my account. The reason given was that the letter wasn't faxed. Upon calling to clear up the issue, we were verbally abused and told that they would be collecting money for 4 more months. We were accused of breaking a contract, although they claimed no responsibility for breaking there end of the contract which clearly stated that we would have a lesson weekly. When an instructor doesn't show... you don't have a lesson. You are better off finding another place for your child to enjoy music. more

The lessons were great, but when I tried to stop paying automatically with a credit card, they pulled a ""gotcha"" on me. I clearly told them (and they acknowledge) that I broke my arm and couldn't continue guitar lessons, and that between school and sports I would not be able to continue lessons. They continued to charge my credit card for a total of four months in spite of repeated phone calls and ""lost"" faxes (you have to fax in a signed statement in order to stop automatic payments). I finally had to go in to the store and write out a request and stick it on their computer (Sean Borca is not necessarily there at any given time, and phone messages will not suffice). Their solution is only to credit the unwanted 4 months of lessons. Borca claims he has paid the instructor for four months even though he has been told repeatedly that the lessons would not continue. It seems that Florida Conservatory of Music has some issues with customers from time to time. No one is perfect. I have always been treated with respect by teachers and staff. My kids are taking music lessons at San Jose location because they love their teachers and are learning.....after all it's about the student. It's easy to find a teacher for your student to click with at Florida Conservatory of Music. Pros: one on one instruction Cons: Rock Bands almost out of slots more
