I had been wanting to go to Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant but I had heard it was pricey and an occasion never really came up meriting a trip to a pricey place. But finally my chance came and I have to say I was really disappointed. From the appearance of the building outside and inside you would think the food is going to have lots of fun unique twists and would be served with flair. I also kinda thought the wait staff would be very highly trained and really professional. The food was the same Mexican food you can get anywhere, served on white plates with no special touches or garnishes. It also definitely sat under a heat lamp for a few minutes. The staff wasn't all that great, and they even managed to mess up my bill. The manager took care of it, but really didn't try to make any amends, no discount or even a free appetizer next time I come in. Also, they give out mints at the end of dinner, but our waiter didn't give any to us, we had to ask at the Host stand for them. I guess the good thing was the prices weren't as high as I thought they were going to be. Still a pretty big let down overall.
