Abacus Plumbing and Air Conditioning

I have had a few plumbers from other service providers in my newer home the past few years. I finally found Abacus!! Professional, courteous and prompt. Will be using for my future issues for sure. A+ more

Chris was very personable and skilled at managing the time it took to do multiple repairs throughout my home, including replacing two water heaters. I received an honest explanation of the needed repairs with options that were totally my choice to make; no pressure. And I knew exactly what I would be paying for up front, before the work began. As the work progressed, I appreciated Chris's attention to extra details that insured the repairs were done right and would offset future problems. He certainly took pride in his work and established my trust in calling Abacus for future needs. more

Main sewage line unclogged. Emergency call in on New Year's Eve. Luis was there in 40 minutes and fixed the problem. Great experience and professionalism with the after hours dispatcher and Luis the technician. more

Completely missed the time window. A few months later come to find out that the 5lbs of freon that was put in the AC has all leaked out because the valve was loose and was not sealed properly. In addition things were overlooked in the inspection suck as clogged coils on the outside. Don't let the fabricated BBB rating deceive you. If I could rate 0 stars I would. Go local, screw these bigger companies who only care about the bottom line. more

Had kitchen and laundry drain stoppage. called abacus and very courteous and friendly lady took my info and scheduled appointment in no time at all, Tech came out and repaired the lines very quickly and had both lines clean in around 1 hour. I have used this company for both plumbing and a/c and they are very very good! thanks abacus! more

My disposal drain got clogged when I shoved a bag of kale down it all at once. I called at 8:30 a.m and even though they are very busy, Abacus had someone come out the same day by 2:00. My plumber Jarrod was kind, courteous and efficient. Problem solved quickly and he even showed my how to fix it myself should it happen again. I'd rather call Abacus! more

I needed plumbing work done and did an online search to locate a reputable company. Abacus was at the top of the results, and showed high ratings in customer reviews. I called and made the appointment for them to come out and diagnose the problem. They called a couple hours before the arrival of the technician to verify he would be here. The technician called 30 minutes before he arrived and showed up on time. So far so good. He came in and immediately diagnosed my problem and provided a quote for the work and additional work that I needed done. I did some of my own research decided to move forward with the repairs since I had had a great experience with Abacus, so far. The appointment was scheduled and I was excited about getting the work done when it was convenient for me, which meant I would not have to miss work. I received a phone call from the technician Friday, to finalize the plans for the repair work to begin Monday between 8 am and 11 am. I got up early Monday to make sure I would not miss their call informing me they were en route. 11 am came and went. I immediately called Abacus to find out what happened. After being placed on hold for a couple minutes, I was told that I was scheduled in the 3 pm to 6 pm block. I let her know that I know for a fact I was scheduled for 8am - 11am because it was verified with the technician Friday. She said I would receive a call from the supervisor shortly with an update on the arrival time. The next call I received from Abacus was TWO DAYS LATER. This time I was being told that the technicians were on the way! There was no apology for missing the scheduled appointment! No explanation as to why it was missed! Just the technicians are on the way. Of course for the amount of money I was about to pay, I was not happy with this service and how the situation was handled. I let her know that my appointment was scheduled for 8am Monday and arrangements had been made to be home for the service, it is now Wednesday! Her responses was "But the trucks are already loaded". This really $@!#% me off. What does that have to do with me? Why weren't the trucks loaded Monday when the repair was scheduled? Why are they not explaining why they missed a repair that was scheduled over a week in advance? Why should I allow them to do the repair just because it is convenient for them, TODAY, and the trucks are loaded? I am glad that no funds were lost but hate that I had this horrible experience with Abacus, who is supposed to be one of the top rated plumbers in Houston. This make me very apprehensive on trusting ANYONE. Good thing this was not an emergency job because I would have been screwed dealing with Abacus. I would definitely never refer anyone I know to Abacus and share this experience with anyone who asks. This was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and a horrible way to start my holidays. I would recommend Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical because it was simple and overall, a very professional process. The gentleman that came out to get the quote and also to do the work was very professional and did the work quickly and he finished quickly too. He cleaned up after he was done and left everything very neat, very professional. Also, when I made the payments, they provided me with an electronic receipt of the transaction to keep everything in order. more

Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Abacus. I had a leak in the shower in my master bathroom and needed to have it repaired quickly. The office staff was very friendly and worked to find me the earliest appointment possible. When Andres arrived, he was very courteous and professional and took the time to explain what it was he was going to do. We discovered that I needed a part that was difficult to locate, but the parts department was able to track it down and order it. When the part came in, Andres notified me and arranged to come in first thing the next morning to install it. The pricing was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I do have plans to use their electrical services to install a new fixture in the house soon. more

Technician was very prompt. He was supposed to arrive between 8:00 am and 11:00 am and arrived at 8:15 am. Eddie was very knowledgeable and explained what needed to be done. He diagnosed the problems, and was able to repair everything. He had all the parts he needed on his truck. The kitchen and bathroom faucets also needed the shut off valves replaced. The house is 30 years old, so that was not a surprise. It was a very positive experience, and I will call Abacus again. more

Abacus has been great from the first time I used them. From a new installed furnace, to new duct work, to regular maintenance, they are always prompt, efficient and honest. Discovered a water heater leak, called for repair in the morning and repairs completed that afternoon. Repairman (Aaron) arrived within minutes of the scheduled time. Very professional explanation of the problem complete with a video showing the leak. more
