Aardvark Cabin Rentals

We rented Cades Cabin in the Pidgeon Forge area. The view was good. But the road is in terrible shape.\r The pool table was useless, as it had a big hole in the felt, it was in poor shape, out of level and there was no chalk.\r \r Beds were in less than satisfactory shape.\r \r I had to remove about 12 pounds of waste from the grille, and spent about 45 minutes cleaning it out before we could use it.\r \r The cable tv was useless, as it was local channels only.\r They didn't have a broom, mop, extra blankets, no instructions as to empty all the trash bins and put dishes in the dishwasher or anything. Really, bare bones - the spreads/quilts had holes in them - very ragged. The mattress on the bottom bedroom looked like something found on the side of the road - springs hanging out of the bottom. The floors were not clean - got your feet dirty. The mantle and other areas were dusty and had some dead moths on them. The only lamp in the bottom bedroom was in bad repair and I had to put the socket back into the holder to use it. The railing on the bottom deck had broken rungs - a clear safety hazard. Now, about the road, we could not get out of the driveway, and almost had to have a tow, because of the conditions of the drive. My SUV was teetering on the two diagonal corners, and I had to get the crew to push and bounce us to get out of there. I called to complain, on a Saturday about the drive conditions with no response - the person I talked to called the manager and owner with no response at all. I will never, ever rent from this agency again - they get your money and that's it. more

Can you rate less than a star? Do NOT rent from Aardvark Cabin Rentals! My husband and I made the mistake of renting from them and were treated very poorly. We rented the Seclusion cabin which was supposed to have two workin hot tubs and jacuzzis. The issue is that neither of the hot tubs worked, and we were told that they would be fixed the first night we were there. The manager Scott even went into detail explaining what the repair man who was coming looked like. Then the repairman never showed and the company never called to tell us he wasn't coming. We attempted to contact the manager to let him know about the situation, but his guard dog Jeannie (who is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with!) was not only rude but was disrespectful to both myself and my husband. When we started looking around we found a book where people record their experiences, and found that the hot tubs had been broken since March of the previous year. But wait - there's more! The cabin was filthy and of course in the book we could see that someone had literally checked out the previous day. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets, dead ladybugs EVERYWHERE, cracks in the walls, and rats or some other critters in the wall. Yes you read that correctly, I said IN THE WALL! Oh, and when you turned on the downstairs jacuzzi (that gets only lukewarm water) hair comes out of the jets and slime comes out of the shower! Gross...so incredibly gross. And don?t get me started about the nasty water. We stayed only the one night. We literally couldn't take anymore. Just steer clear of Aardvark Cabin Rentals. more
