After a round trip down to Ashland, my older Subaru wagon started slipping on acceleration. First shop I took it to near my home was booked, but fortunately referred me to Tim's AATCO shop. Easy to find on the south side of the Tualatin Valley Hwy, halfway between Cedar Hills and Murray Blvds, across all those car dealerships. Tim himself was personable and, important to me, a good listener. I could see that they were busy, but right away he called a mechanic out to do a quick inspection simply to see what might be involved in a repair. I was impressed because usually lazy shops with too much business don't even look at your vehicle, but just worry about scheduling you in for later. Anyway, that's how I read this triage move by Tim. It's how I would run a biz too, since an inspection can be done quickly. They identified the problem - very low fluid level due to leak from a failed filter/gasket - a simple fix, and squeezed me in while I waited. I was a happy camper. They also took time to explain the probable cause: fluid loss happens during higher pressure while driving, but only a few drops show up on the garage floor at rest, plus, an earlier repair probably only changed the cheaper part of the 2-stage filter, an imperfect fix that encourages seal failure. They could see the fluid residue under the whole undercarriage. Tim reminded me to come by in a couple weeks for a quick follow up check for leaking, at no charge. Sorry for my long story, but clearly Tim's shop is as good as it gets. Your car will be very glad you brought it here.
Pros: simply good service and follow up
