Very surprised, great sushi, took some time to arrive but me and my wife were absolutely happy. Everything tasted great, will definitely order again, in the next sushi crave :) Hi...

Worst

Checked out this restaurant thanks to Restaurant . com but I really wish I hadn't. Yes, they make Chinese and Japanese food which allows for variety, however they do neither right...

Prompt with the delivery, but the food just isn't great. From what I've sampled, it has ranged from decent (but nothing special) to mediocre. more

BEST Wonton Soup in town 11/26/2010

I've tried many Chinese places for takeout around the Van Nuys area and keep coming back to 88 Chinese. They really do have the best wonton soup out of everyone. It's full of chicken, pork, cabbage, snow peas, carrots, mushrooms, shrimp, and of course wontons. No one else packs so much into a soup. I also really enjoy the cashew chicken. The only upsetting part is that I like pork lo-mein but they only use bbq pork instead of roast pork. As an native East Coaster, I am used to roast pork in the dishes and prefer that. The interior of the place is not much to look at, but take out is not disappointing. more

Japanese + Chinese - Neither Work 1/17/2010

Checked out this restaurant thanks to Restaurant . com but I really wish I hadn't. Yes, they make Chinese and Japanese food which allows for variety, however they do neither right. I say pass over this place and either go to your favorite sushi spot or Chinese restaurant; please keep the two of them separate. more

Ordered the Po Po platter and the Wor Wonton soup for two. Both were warm, not hot. No utensils, napkins (seems to be a common problem with many of the delivery places) or sauces for the Po Po platter. The food tasted pretty good. The soup could have done with more variety of vegetables. It seemed there was only cabbage, carrot, and a couple of pea pods. Could have used some onion, broccoli, bamboo shoots. The ribs in the Po Po platter were a little fatty, but that made them tender. Ribs from Chinese restaurants tend to be tough in my experience. Delivery driver couldn't figure out how to use the intercom at the front door. Overall not bad, just have to remember to follow up my online order with a phone call to request utensiles and dipping sauces next time. more

Long Live Orange Chicken - Yes I know it's fake chinese 11/2/2007

Ok here's the deal - we used to live on Burbank right around the corner from this place; and honestly we ordered so much that the guy knows our voices and our order! Since we move which has been some time ago I still go over there and pick up dinner at least twice a month. \r \r The keepers on this menu are the white meat orange chicken, the cream cheese wontons, and the war wonton soup - the hubby likes mongolian chicken and the green bean chicken. Even though I moved out of their traditional delivery area they are willing to come the extra mile and deliver my stuff if I order over $50 in food - that's what I call customer service. \r \r Tips - the owner is normally the one taking orders @ nights and on the weekends, and don't be afraid to ask for things that aren't on the menu, or ask for alterations to your order; they are always happy to accommodate if the can! I have to say that I have never ordered the sushi here just because I don't want to tarnish my thoughts of my good experiences there - I'm always afraid to try sushi outside my comfort zone. \r \r Entrees are large, food is always fresh and hot - and they'll work with you on substitutions. Pros: Food, Service, Fast Delivery Cons: I don't live close enough! more

Good Chinese Food 10/4/2007

So we live around the corner, and I find myself ordering almost once a week from this place. The delivery is quick. Always quicker than they say, and the food is always steaming hot when it arrives. Being american, I like how the orange chicken is white meat only. And they can make anything that is supposed to be spicy, without the spice. I really like this place. It is my perfect alternative to not wanting to cook. more
