I was here on Valentine's Day and was quite unimpressed. First of all there was a fixed menu of which we were not informed of when making the reservation. Secondly, we felt like...

If your want a fun bar with a ton of eye candy...33 is the place for you. If your looking for edible food and good service, go next door to Bomboa, because 33 does not have either. 33 should do at least one thing....teach the staff how to serve wine! They are clueless which leads me to believe the owners are as well. ouch! more

TRUST ME! 7/31/2002

Walk downstairs and let the fun begin.... Wrap around bar with quick serving bartenders. Great eye-candy for both guys and gals! Wrap around sofa as well! Great for chillin or dancing on a weekend night! Brand new!!! The trendy place to be, but not overly crowded and known...YET. Clientele ranges from college kids to young professionals...with the mix of Euro. Great Dj on Fris. and Sats. Sundays are the BEST nights. Def. Recommend..take it from me, I KNOW! Pros: Great Eye-Candy!, Quick Service, Not too Crowded Cons: A tad expensive, No parking, Sunglasses in doors. more

Fun but too pricey bar scene 7/22/2002

One Heineken ($6) and one ""house"" vodka tonic ($9) was $15 plus tip. The upstairs bar is really my favorite. The bar itself changes color, there is plenty of space, and it's a very trendy, fun scene. The downstairs bar is also cool, but it's much darker and feels much more cramped and dungeon-like. Drinks are simply too expensive for me. Every time that I've been over there we've left to go to another bar where we can drink for less $$$. Pros: Very cool upstairs, Lovely outdoor seatin Cons: $15+tip=beer&drink, Dungeon Bar downstair more

With both French and Italian food to choose from, you are sure to be please with this wonderful menu selection. The decor is very soothing and trendy. Nothing I have ever seen before. Great New Place! Pros: Fun, Happening more

Perfect 7/12/2002

This place is great! I've gone for both drinks and dinner and the atmosphere is amazing. Great place to get a drink after work. more

So wonderful 7/12/2002

I LOVE 33! You won't find another place like this in all of Boston. They have outside seating to enjoy this beautiful summer weather we have been experiencing and a wonderful menu to choose. The drinks are just fabulous. Tyr any of the martini's. Pros: outside dining, great food more

So disappointing! 7/8/2002

If you go go for drinks midweek only. The bar and design is very cool and the service is good when the bartenders are not busy with over demanding patrons or chatting with their friends. Never in Boston have I been sitting at a bar for a couple of hours with an empty glass or no attention to filling that glass. The bartenders were oblivious. I could have easily walked out on my tab! I decided to give it another shot and returned with friends. What a disappointment. The service is terrible and the wait staff should to stop feeling oh so fabulous! Our waitress was rude and condescending and was not helpful with suggesting items on the menu. She couldnt be bothered and the restaurant wasnt even busy. Very pretentious and extremely expensive for what the food is. Ive had better and next time will go somewhere else. Pros: atmosphere Cons: expensive, service more

With a flare 7/7/2002

I can't say enough about 33 Restaurant. The drinks may be a little pricey, but you won't find decor like this anywhere! You have to check out the downstairs lounge. And while you're there, check out the bathrooms...sounds a little corny but the place is just amazing! Great menu mix with Italian and French to choose from. Wonderful service...incredible atmosphere. Pros: outside dining more

DON'T BOTHER 7/2/2002

Overpriced, underserviced and unaccomodating. At this ""new"" restaurant, I was shocked and insulted by the attitude of our waiter. Four of us went for after-work drinks and appetizers. Our waiter actually gave us an attitude for not ordering more food. Drinks were outrageously priced ($12.00 per glass of wine). Tables were no where near full, yet our waiter brought our tab over 2x without asking if we wanted anything else. Both times we did. To top it off, on our bill, there was a precalculated cheat sheet to show us what 18% and 20% gratuity would be. You have got to be kidding. Slightly pushy, don't you think. I can confidently say that I will not be visitiing 33 again and I certainly will not recommend it to any of my friends. ps- also charged $12.00 for two bottles of sparkling water, one which we did not even order!! Ridiculous. Pros: Nice decor, Nice outside patio Cons: service, prices, attitude more
