love hate 8/1/2008

This is one of my fave 24hf locations. It's very large, lots of machines and weights, easy to get to, tons of classes, tanning (super CHEAP) BUT it always smells and is always jam packed so i hate that. If i can ever go at an off hour it's my favorite, but during the normal pre and post work times or on the weekends, forget it. Pros: good classes, large facility Cons: always too busy more

Poor management style/ high pressure salesmanship 2/26/2008

This commercial fitness chain is the biggest scam operation since Bally's total fitness in the 80's. They actually have good equipment and large, spacious workout area, but all they are interested in is signing you up and then forget about you, we don't want to hear your complaints. If you try to cancel they give you a phone number to call in Arizona or someplace, no in person cancellations, but I joined up in person!! Doesn't matter, then they will overcharge you by 3 months anyway. I actually joined this club twice to make sure I was right. The potrero hill gym has a nice swimming pool, but both hot sauna/jacuzzi's were fitthy with debris floating on top. The company was sold about a year ago as the founder cashed in. They settled a Calif. suit that paid back hundreds of overcharged people, I just got my $97 refund after 1 1/2 years! Avoid this chain and save yourself a hassle. Pros: equipment is ok Cons: management is awful more

Don't use personal training 7/19/2007

Personal training team is very disorganized. Often messes up with schedules and they don't talk to each other. Management is very poor. more

Don't Go Here 12/27/2003

This gymn, while host to a plethora of weights and machines is a filthy stinking wreck akin only to the sludge found crusted under the tracks at the bart station. In retrospect the price I paid was very fair but the amount of time I used it was not very promising. You can do better then 24hr fitness. Yes, even if your on a budget you have to realize this is a dirt farm and if you are going to spend more then 4 hours a week in a place it should at least be clean. Pros: Price Cons: Dirty, Dirty, Dirty more

A good one! 10/2/2003

Gym's great. I used to go there from '96 to '97. Left the gym to move back to TX. Finally, I am back where I belong, San Francisco. I had joined Gold's at Brannan but it's time limited. I decided to check out this 24hrs Fitness gym. Everything changed! Better modern equipments. More clean. They added Jamba Juice to the gym. The Paramount Rotary Machines are awesome! So far, it's great and I am using All-Club membership so I can use any 24hrs Fitness in the US. There's one catch, parking's pretty difficult. It's easy for me because I am a biker. I used to park in the parking lot space next to the gym and it was free. Now, it's two bucks and you can use it as long as you want whenever it's a car or a motorcycle. Not bad. I would use them for rainy days. Pros: great equipments, all time open - 24hrs, really clean Cons: parking, no pool, again, parking more

  • In Short
With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.
