Awful Child care 6/6/2008

I've been a member at this 24 hour fitness for years. Although we hardly use it, today I tried to put my 2 year old in the child care facility. The staff consisted of 1 check in lady (older) who was as friendly as a drill Sergeant. Then, there were 2 other women there who each held a small child (sick never the less, which is against their policy). To make a long story short, I was called to pick up my child, because she was crying. I was there not even a minute after the announcement to find my child crying uncontrollably without any of the staff consoling her or even being near her. To my astonishment they were in the same position as I left. So I stayed with my daughter for about 30 minutes to comfort her and the staff remained on their butts in the same position for the whole duration. Nobody and I mean nobody observed the toddlers. 1 was crying in the corner for a while and nobody even noticed. Another little girl got hurt and once again nobody noticed. This was an absolute horrif more

Damsel In Distress 8/1/2007

The facility is nice, my husband and I joined together. We don't always work out together and one of the women that works the front desk was enamored with him. I understand, so am I. I just found her asking for a ride home to be inappropriate. Young women hitting on older men is nothing new but when he made a complaint about her behavior it was ignored. Just so you know, if your husband is using the gym make sure the front desk isn't checking your personal information in the computer to get his cell number. He ended up changing his number. Bad employees happen everywhere but employers that ignore that behavior are less common.... more

Small and Crowded 9/2/2005

This is a very small 24 hour fitness. In the morning it is hard to get a spot in the childcare facility unless you get there early, especiailly between 9 and 10. It is almost always packed with people and it is usually a wait to get on the equipment. Since this is such a low-priced membership, you have a lot of rude and inconsiderate low lifes who don't wipe down the machines and aren't courteous enough to share weights. The pool facility is small and the temperature is always just above freezing. The popular classes are always full unless (once again) you get there early which is a waste of my valuable time. PROS: Cheap CONS: Small facility, overcrowded more

Great hours but needs better customer service 6/16/2005

I bought a three year contract here because this is was the only gym with water aerobics in town at the time. Since then there are several more options, and I wish I had waited. The pool at this 24 hour fitness location is not taken care of very well. It seems like there's always a problem with the water. The temperature fluctuates wildly, and the chemicals are hit and miss. (I have asked about the temperature issue and have been told that the lap swimmers who come in in the afternoon heat like the pool cold, but morning aqua exercise classes require a warmer water temp.----I think the problem could be solved by heating the pool starting in the evening hours and turning the heater down each morning at 5 or 6 but no one follows through...) A pool that hosts as many swimmers per day as this one does should be checked and adjusted for chemicals daily, but I really don't think this one is. The other bit of bad news is that while the club finally made pool dumbbells and kick boards a more

Great Personal Trainer 2/15/2005

Sean Turner works here and I happen to know that he is an excellent personal trainer. He works with kids and adults, males and females. He certainly takes his work seriously, but doesn't take himself too seriously. He motivates me to want to live a healthier lifestyle and exercise more and that seems to me to be one of the most important factors in choosing a personal trainer. more

Excellent Fitness Center - Although crowded right after work at 5:00pm. This gym is everthing they advertize. They provide a variety of classes. And state of the art equipment. • In Short
With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.
