Review content:
there are two negative comments i have seen here that i disagree with ALOT. even though they have closed, i am keeping my fingers crossed that they will reopen, so im hoping to cancel out some of the bitter reviews here. regarding gift cards- a while back i went through some rough times and as soon as i recovered my mom was sent overseas. my father is a teacher and a few members of the pta pitched in to get my mom and i a gift card there so that we could have a day of pampering together before she left. the staff did not treat us with disrespect nor did they rush us. on the contrary, we recieved a higher quality of service than we went in expecting. im sorry sir, maybe your wifes expectations are a little bit too high and you should get a more specific gift that you know she will enjoy. in regards to the hair salon services- people have different views on what a good haircut is, and preferences on stylists. most people who have a stylist they return to have gone to several others before deciding on the one they will continue seeing. you seem to be knowlegable on the topic of hair care, i would think that you would have already decided on a stylists. either way, i think everyone has gotten a cut they werent thrilled with, and many times its because the cut didnt look the way they thought it would on them, not because the stylist did not know how to execute it. secondly, its about $20 to get a haircut at greatclips, they charge $10-15 dollars more for styling. when i get my hair done, i usually ask to style it myself so that i do not have to pay extra when im just going to go home and restyle it to my liking anyways.they do not go hand in hand in all cases. now, if a cut and style at a place like great clips is close to $40, it is safe to say that going to a day spa to get your hair cut and styled will cost more. maybe you were not paying enough attention to the pricing/service when you asked for it, because for $40 im almost positive all you payed for was a cut. also-- a 5 minute cut does not mean bad service. if the person knows what they are doing or if your style is simple, it shouldnt take long anyways. most of the time is in dying, highlighting, styling, perming, etc.. its sad to see the salon go and i hope they will reopen. Pros: great staff, great servics, relaxing atmosphere Cons: its a spa, yes its a splurge..
