My son is in preschool here and he's learned a lot in the 6 months he's been there, but he's also become afraid of not doing things just so. By this I mean that he is only going to color pictures and make them true-to-life colors because the teacher has made him re-color things the correct color. To me this is too much, I'm happy that he stays in the lines...I like blue and red frogs--there are those color frogs in the rain forest! In the k-8 part of the school, their works are shown in the hallways and always look so nice. In the playground they are not to run during recess because the principal doesn't want anyone to get hurt or rip their uniforms. Once again, to me this is too much. How many children can resist running after sitting in class for hours?!?! Education is great, but there is room for improvement.
