We went for restaurant week summer '08. We had 8:00 reservation and had to wait a few minutes (about 10) to be seated. Front desk seemd a bit disorganized and run by young immature staff. However a more senior person came to our aid and rectified things in a professional manner. The Chambers hotel is interesting and funky. Everyone waiting to dine seemed a bit dressed up. The bar is very small and you can't get near it if it's crowded. There is lounging and waitress service in the hotel lobby but they didn't start it up until we were close to being seated so we didn't get to enjoy that. The space is 2 levels, we were in the downstairs portion. It's slightly dated looking but it's pleasant and not terribly worn out. Our waitress was friendly and reasonably knowledgable. The portions were pretty small and I generally prefer that but the 1st course was itsy bitsy tiny, about 3 miniscule raviolini. We didn't get bread until after the 1st course but it was excellent. The main course was nice, we had paired wines with each course for $18 which was a nice offering. The carpet under my chair was wet for some reason and the dining room smelled like fish when you entered which was very strange. Overall the food was very good, the service professional and friendly but they seemed overwhelmed by the crush of RW. It's probably much more relaxing at other times. I had a "short rib" steak which is a confusing name as it was not a short rib at all. It was very good. Dessert was amazing, a hazelnut dacquois. I usually don't care about desserts either. House cocktails are excellent and worth a try - the passion margarita is delicious. Pros: Food, cocktails, cool hotel lobby Cons: Dated dining room decor, fish smell
