The auto repair business is shaky grounds for those of us who are not mechanically-inclined. However, occasionally you find a place that treats like they would a close friend who wants nothing more than to ensure you are a satisfied customer. That is exactly the type of experience I encountered at Wiyguyl's Automotive in Herndon. I took my '08 Ford Fusion in for a state inspection and an oil change expecting that the vehicle would easily pass as I've done my best to keep it in good condition. However, much to my surprise, the vehicle did not pass the inspection. Wiygul's stated that my Fusion had three broken motor mounts. Fortunately my vehicle still had 400 miles left on it's powertrain warranty so I took it in to my local Ford dealership (Apple Ford in Columbia, MD). The Ford dealership looked it over and said they could find no problems. I was a bit upset at this point as I knew either the Ford dealership or Wiygul's was lying to me. I had the Ford dealership double-check again the next day with a different mechanic to be absolutely sure. They not only assured me there was nothing wrong but they even went to the length of telling me to call a state trooper if Wiygul's would not pass my vehicle. I returned to Wiygul's and told what I believe was their manager (Tim Potter) what Ford had told me. Tim was professional throughout the entire process and told me that he was going to put my vehicle up on lifts and would show me exactly what they were seeing. A friend (who is more adept to things of this nature) and I went into their repair bay and saw exactly what they failed the inspection for. 3 of the motor mounts had tears and when they torqued the engine it looked as though it was about to lift out of the hood! We recorded what they showed us on video and I returned to the dealership the next day. With the information Wiygul's provided me with I was finally able to get Ford to perform the warranty repair. After the repairs were completed I returned to Wiygul's but their phenomenal customer service wasn't over just yet. I dropped my vehicle off at their shop to be re-inspected and went back to work. They called me while I was at lunch to let me know the vehicle was ready to be picked up (and that it had passed the inspection). I told them I would be there in the afternoon to grab it. However, things at work got extremely busy and we forgot about picking up my Fusion. Tim called me at 7:05pm and said they were closing and that my vehicle was still there. I apologized and he said that he would stay there until I could get there. I found a coworker who was still at the office and grabbed a ride back ti Wiygul's to pick up my vehicle. If Wiygul's hadn't stayed open for me my fiance would have had to drive 45 minutes down from Maryland to pick me up and give me a ride back the next day! When I got back to Wiygul's Tim was there with a smile and a handshake as he handed me my keys. I can't thank Wiygul's enough for this fantastic experience. It is so rare to find a place you can truly trust in the automotive business these days. I've finally found that though at Wiygul's Automotive in Herndon, VA. Thank you Tim and the rest of the people at Wiygul's for a job well done!
