The first mistake I made was opening an account with Citi Financial via their San Pedro branch. \r \r The second was in trusting that any one of the employees at this location could be trusted to provide accurate information, to complete a simple request as promised, or document an account accurately.\r \r I can't speak to other locations, but STEER CLEAR of the San Pedro branch of Citi Financial. \r \r I called a month in an advance to have my auto-withdrawal cancelled. I was advised that it had been completed. I then requested a pay-off quote. \r \r I made a significant payment to my account, and the CitiFinancial website reflected no payment due until 2012. \r \r However, that automatic withdrawal that was confirmed cancelled? It was NOT cancelled, did pull, and over drafted my account. \r \r I called in to find out what had happened, and how Citi planned to correct the issue. I was told first, that I'd never called in. Then, that my call had only been to request the payoff quote. \r \r After basically calling me a liar, showing a complete lack of accountability, the Manager of the location advised that she'd personally completed the cancellation of the auto- withdrawal. She also advised, that as a courtesy, because they'd obviously done no wrong, she'd get overdraft fees for my external account taken care of. After I proved to them that I wasn't lying about the charges existing.\r \r Luckily, I bank with USAA, and we all know that THEY understand customer service. Even though the error was obviously Citi's, USAA waived the fees for me.\r \r Horror story over?\r \r NOPE. The auto debit, that the manager had advised she'd personally cancelled? WITHDREW AGAIN two days later. \r \r I called back and was again treated like a liar. Again Citi exhibited zero accountability. The manager advised that after I proved that the debit had happened, she'd work with their home office to get it reversed out. Since it was already yesterday afternoon, she said it could take a few hours, and would be done that evening, or at the latest the following morning.\r \r I called back today (because God forbid, they try to actively assist me, It's not THEIR bank accounts affected, right?) and another rep told me that while the manager had sent the request, there would be a ten day waiting period before they'd give me the refund.\r \r Big difference between next day and ten days, no? To top it off, the reasoning behind the waiting period was to ensure that the payment was not returned, when the bank statement I faxed them CLEARLY stated I had six times the payment amount in the account at the time it processed. \r \r To make it worse, today is my mother's birthday. When this fiasco began, I'd had those funds earmarked for her gift. Now, she gets a card, I get the shaft, and the smarmy, disrespectful, untrustworthy reps at the San Pedro location get to go on with life as usual. \r \r If you value the integrity of your personal finances, and your peace of mind- STAY FAR AWAY from the San Pedro Citi Financial office.\r
