Review content:
My own experience with Toth has been very different from the ""glowing"" review posted below. 5 years ago, I was thinking about an Asian blepharoplasty to try and get the ""double eyelid crease"" as well as slightly rejuvenating my eyes. I came upon Toth from ""glowing"" reviews such as the one below (which I have to to believe to come from either Toth himself or his staff, as I find it hard to believe that a surgeon can produce such low quality work as in my case and do godly work in another). Anyway, I went for a consultation with Toth and he seemed nice enough at the consulation. Looking back now, there were definitely red flags that I should have caught, such as: 1) His trying to brag about the fact that he wrote a craniofacial book and trying to correlate this with plastic surgery of the eyes, which is a different ballgame, 2) His showing of the pictures of his Asian eyelid surgery, all of which look very exaggerated and not all that impressive, and 3) His refusal to acknolwedge any sort of possible complications in the procedure. Being young and impressionable at the time, I bought into his apparent bonhommie and underwent the procedure. It was hell. First of all, Toth scheduled my surgery about 4 hours before he was supposed to fly out of the country for a ""conference,"" and during my fragmented memory of the surgery (I was under twilight sedation), I can recall that he was very rushed in his work. Also, I recalled that he was bantering very unprofessionally with his staff, even cracking sex jokes. After having the surgery, I followed all of the instructions for post-op convalescence. Almost immediately I could see that there was something horribly wrong: One of the eyes' crease was so high and the other one so low such that there is a huge discrepancy (probably about 8 mm according to the surgeon who subsequently corrected the problem). At first I chalked it up to the swelling, but as weeks turned into months the situation remained the same. The difference was obvious even by just looking at the incisional crease height. What's worse, so much skin had been removed from each eye that I cannot close fully at night. As the results were so disappointing and traumatizing, I tried to talk to Toth but he started becoming very visibly nervous and apprehensive to see me. In one meeting, after discussing the problem and showing him his ""work,"" he was literally standing at the door throughout the appt ready to bolt at the first chance. He never apologized or offered a plan to correct the problem, and being a bit wiser after the experience, I resolved to not let him touch my eyes again and went to a specialized, dedicated bleph surgeon to correct the problem. After two additional surgeries (one on each eye, one of these being a graft to help the eye to close), I finally achieved a passable result from the horrendous state I was in. I have finally come out of the experience and put it behind me, but from time to time I still find the need to share my experiences with potential Toth patients. The guy may be able to do some good work from time to time, but from my own experience I simply cannot imagine him as this ""superb"" surgeon that some (I think) bogus reviewers make him out to be, or the ""surgeon that other surgeons go to."" The fact that Toth's office leaked info to the press about how he supposedly operated on the ex-Prime Minister of Italy goes to show how the man is a glory hound with little respect for his patient's privacy. Therefore, I simply cannot recommend him to anybody, and I sincerely caution anyone from buying into potentially bogus positive reviews like I did. The truth is much more valuable and less glamorous sometimes.
