Recently I took my 06 SUV in for an oil change where they charged me for 7 qts of synthetic oil…my truck holds only 6….so I paid them not realizing at the time I could not trust them…a month and half pass and my vehicle starts making a fluttering noise that sounded like I got some cheap gas –so I ran the tank out and filled up again at a different place than I usually do but the noise still didn’t subside…so on Jan 30 ’11 I popped into Advance Auto parts just to check and see if I needed oil….it didn’t not leak nor have I ever seen it burn oil (my truck is always garaged so I would notice a leak of any kind)…well much to my surprise I see a dry dip stick so I run in and by a qt of oil and add it to my truck….wait 10 min and check the stick again…still nothing dry as a bone…..I go back into the store and buy another qt and put it in and finally get a reading….the mgr of this store was standing outside watching me do this and commented to me about where I have my oil changed and I told him Walmart….he said he has heard this many times from other folks too…. \r Well so I get back in the car and drive home and the sound seems to have gotten softer and I am hoping I t was not damaged beyond making this fluttering noise – I am a once a week driver…I drive only back and forth to work and to do errands and shopping on weekends so never go anywhere long distance. About a week goes by and I hear the noise again so decide to take to my mechanic…he looks at it and says it is a rod and I must replace the engine which costs upward of $5000----so I am stuplified and shocked that being 2 qts low should cause such damage especially since all my gauges showed normal readings….and the car has never been over heated under any circumstance… \r I was in disbelief so I took the car to another walmat and their auto mgr looked at it from top to bottom told me the blue goop they put on the plug was undisturbed and I did not have an oil leak or leak of any kind…he then listened to the fluttering and he too thought it was a rod. He recommended I file a claim with the Walmart where I had the oil change so I did this on Monday and on Wed when I hadn’t hear from them I called their claims ctr and they told me they had no claim for me so I called the mgr who had come out to take my claim on Monday he said he would call me before noon today to let me know what had been done. I have not heard from these people. I am a single person and I need my transportation…I work and I was in the midst of trying to find a new place to live –but I can’t get walmart to talk to me long enuf to get a rental car or to agree on what course of action to take..so tonite I tried calling Walmart Mgmt again and another mgr in the store named Brian got on the phone and basically said I don’t have a leg to stand on and that the 2 qts of oil I added to the car on the 30th probably damaged my car not Walmart….I have to say I am dumbfounded….I wish this to happen to his Mother and to his daughter and wife then we will see what this cold robot has to say then. This is just par for the course of life –uncaring, unfeeling, careless people – now they know they are at fault as they inspected the car … no oil leaks, no one had done anything to the car except them and me. They said cuz I added the oil to the engine I tampered with it….if I hadn’t added the oil and blew the engine up so it stopped running then I would be at fault too because I didn’t do everything I could to stop further damage. I AM BOYCOTTING WALMART FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE—I HOPE I CAN SWAY MORE FOLKS TO STOP PATRONIZING THIS HORRIBLE WORTHLESS PLACE WHO TAKE, TAKE AND TAKE SOME MORE-- BUT NEVER DO THE RIGHT THING BY ANYONE --THEIR EMPLOYEES, THEIR CUSTOMERS, ETC. I HAVE SINCE READ ONLINE AND THERE ARE 1000’s WITH THE SAME STORY.\r
