Contrary to the outdated reviews, this place is safe as can be. Tons of college kids frequent the place for cheap beer. Cheap, yeah right, what's cheap anymore... So somebody sees a person of color and they get scared....sheesh. The truth of the matter is that Sams has an excellent selection of beer and is open late (1:30 AM- 7 Days a week), plus they serve food. The food is fine. The pizza is greek pan style, some love it, some hate it. Back in the day the pizza sucked, now its just ok. The best thing to get there is the strombolis, which are among the best around. Unfortunately they sell so much beer that they really don't focus on the food as much as they could, but the food is decent regardless, with the stromboli being excellent. On a hot day they even have an icee type drink machine that cranks out some crazy flavors. This is the best part about the place! The service is set up to move people through, as it gets extremely busy. So, don't expect conversations of any real value or extremely personable service. Great place for beer. They can set them up and bag em, but the personality thing just isn't their forte'. The locals lovingly refer to the owner as the "" Beer Natsi "", ala Seinfeld. Just don't tell him that........
