Review content:
07/17/05 - The Low Brow Lounge used to be an unassuming cheap place to have some beers and hot dogs. A nice little dive with no attitude. Everyone welcome as long as they can pay. Now that the Pearl is gentrifying it's become somewhat pretentious in its attempts to remain divey. It's developed a snobby attitude about how it's a working class bar. Oddly enough it seems to be changing into the kind of place it proclaims it isn't. I still like it and it's still relatively cheap, but just wonder where it's going. _______________ _________________________ ________________________ ___________________01/06/08 - Returned there a month ago and found that's it even more trendily non-trendy. If you really want a bar with no pretensions instead of this self-loving pit, try The Life of Riley a few blocks away. For what you're paying the food is 1,000 times better. And the service is actually happy to see you.
