Businiess name:  Eddie's Transmissions

Review content:
I brought my vehicle into Eddie's Transmissions because the vehicle had a leaking coolant hose. The hose was situated in an in-accesible place underneath the engine block. Simply put, I did not personally have the proper tooling to fix the problem myself. I brought my vehicle in by appointment for a free estimate on how much it would cost for the hose to be replaced. I had meantioned to a mechanic in the shop that my finances were limited because I was currently un-employed; fact in hand, I only had $200 in my possesion. A verbal agreement was made that this was only an estimate and that no work would have been done on the car without consent. I called Eddie's Transmissions to check on the vehicle in which they replied, ""the coolant hose has already been replaced, and we are running a few more tests on the vehicle in order to check the engine."" - THIS WAS ALL DONE WITHOUT MY CONSENT!!! I arrived to the shop as quickly as possible to retrieve my vehicle before they tried to ""fix"" anything else without my consent. The cost of the work done on the vehicle was, you guessed it, EXACTLY $200, the very amount of money that I had mentioned that was all I had! I had previous estimates from various other shops that cost HALF that amount of money!!! The mechanic lied to his supervisor about recieving my consent. They charged me $30 for coolant and $112 of labor!, plus another $30 for the hose!!! I have never seen a mechanic charge more than $60 an hour for working on a vehicle! They're saying that it took about 2 hours to replace a rubber hose!!!! Need I not meantion that all my personal belongings in the vehicle had been manhandled with greasy fingerprints on my christmas gifts in the back, my radio face-plate that was in a case located inside my glove box, cd's, and other personal belongings in my car!
