Businiess name:  Westerly Health Center

Review content:
It's hard to write this review because it's a very emotional one for me. About a year ago, my grandfather had to admit my grandma into the Westerly Heath Center (nursing home). Sad, but true. Both are in their late 80s and life is slipping away from her. When I first heard the news, I thought, "No! No!" because I've only heard tragic tales of nursing home drama and wicked nurses from, well, the hot burning inferno that torture helpless elderly victims by not feeding them, not washing them, and stealing their stuff. However, I never heard any rumor of this happening at the Westerly Health Center. In fact, I googled them and conducted HOURS of research to try to dig up ONE negative about them and nada, nothing, zilch. Made me feel a lot better, however I wanted to see what grandma thought. After 6 months, I asked her, "So how are they treating you in there?" and she smiled and told me how good the nurses are to her and how nice they always treat her. I decided to do a random "drop in" visit to check, and other than a very nasty bathroom (someone just used it and had an accident in there, the nurse cleaned it by the time we left), the place was clean and not at all creepy or morbid. The nurses were very friendly and talkative and their station, and everything appeared to be in order. When I call her, they always make an effort to get her on the phone so I can talk to her. I am a pretty good judge of situations and I didn't feel that the center was abusive or neglectful or cold. I still don't think anything negative about it, it appears to be a normal health care center and feels much like a quiet little hospital. Of course, it's hard to review a nursing home, but all emotion aside, I trust my grandmother with the Westerly Health Center.
