A secret oasis cloaked behind iron gates on Sunset, you have to ring a doorbell to gain entry. Once inside, one is immediately taken by how surprising large the area is. This is not to say that it's huge, just that from the outside it doesn't look like more than a table or two on the patio, when in fact there's a whole indoor area with booths and tables as well. The food is another story. If your only experience with Indian food has been at semi-Americanized chains, then this will throw you way off course. There's no Tikka Masala anything, no Saag Paneer. Instead it's true SOUTHERN Indian cooking, which relies a lot less on rice than it does on this very interesting sort of dough. It's very different, but certainly worth experiencing at least once. Oh, and the food is all-vegetarian. Pros: authentic food, good portions Cons: no meat, parking can be tough
