... bartender Tim Monaghan. He's been with the place from the beginning and is a very generous man. Rabid Sox fan, but that's okay. Classic rock afficionado, but his taste is very discerning. 1020 isn't exactly a college bar (DEFINITELY not a ""frat bar""), but it's near Columbia. It's really more of a neighborhood local. Very accepting and people there genuinely like each other. NO scene BS. That said, it's not exactly a glamorous place. I wouldn't take a date there. As for the music, well, it's eclectic. Entirely up to the discretion of the bartender on duty. Some like classic rock, some hip-hop, some mostly Australian bands. Not enough country, I'd say. That's just the way it is. Oh, and, by the way, the later it is, the more crowded the place. These folks really get their thing going after 11pm. Me? I'm more of an early evening patron...
